Default Are there any RC10 historians out there?

I have stumbled across a chassis that I have never seen before. It is an original metal RC10 gold pan type chassis that is stamped "C", has lightening holes milled in it, and is anodized in blue. From my research, it is a Worlds edition chassis, but everything I can find states they only came in Gold or Black. It does not appear that it has been reanodized, but possibly has been stripped and redone a long time ago. Does anyone know anything about this chassis and how rare it may be?

Thanks for the help.

Pretty worthless post if you don't post a picture of it, don't you think?

Is the chassis drilled for a 6 gear tranny or a Stealth tranny? Also does the chassis have "Holes" or is there channels milled in the bottom of the inside of the chassis?

This color blue you speak of, is it flourescent or metallic?

AE had both back in the day.

I am not sure if it is drilled for a six gear tranny or the stealth, the chassis has "holes" drilled in it, it does not have milled channels. I will have to check on the transmission bolt pattern when I get home.

Not sure about the color either, I would not call it a florescent blue, maybe it is the metallic blue.

And in repley to Mudsy, the posting rules for me state I cannot post attachments.

OK, here is a recent ebay auction where I tried to sell it. This was before I did any research and discovered the "C" stamp and that it may be rare. Starting price one cent and not a single bid.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEUSX:IT

I don't think I will take one penny for it right now.

AE had a couple of Powder Coated type chassis that were 3 different colors or it could be a Badd Boyz chassis.

That looks like an AE chassis that was the option one & someone hacked it up with a drill & bit.

There is a Green chassised RC10 on the fleabay with a picture now.

Looks like someone drilled and anodized. Center holes drift to one side so I doubt they where factory.

I saw that earlier, that is how I found out about the "C" stamp being a worlds chassis, I was confused because the "C" chassis only came in black and gold. I think what happened was someone drilled up the chassis and than had it reanodized. That still puzzles me a bit, because I do not see any traces of prior black or gold anodize in the scratches.

Oh well, I'll try ebay again, it is what it is.

Thanks for the help.

Worlds chassis only came in black.

The Dual sport and the trucks had the black C stamp chassis. The later buggies had the gold C stamp and the team car had the black.

I do know they mad a select number of chassis in the factory team blue color. No clue if this was one of them. Either way I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but that chassis is worth next to nothing with all those holes in it.

It's all good, I have basically nothing invested in it, so I don't care if its worth nothing. I got in with some other stuff in a lot off Ebay and have made my money back on the other stuff.

Thanks for your help.

There were actually 4 colors available from what my research dug up a couple years ago. They had flourescent blue, flourescent green, flourescent yellow and flourescent red/pink. They were available as an optional part and were actually listed in some of the older AE catalogs. As for someone mentioning that the battery mounting holes werent right because they were a little off center, thats how they all were made. Ive got 2 gold chassis, 2 black chassis and one flourescent red/pink and they are all that way.
A true original flourescent colored chassis should come drilled for both the stealth and 6 gear tranny.

Not the battery mount holes, the large ones to lighten it up.
