| Sand Rail HPI Flux TCS to HPI Baja Conversion
Bought a roller off ebay for cheap, and slapped this together in about an hour or so with no manual last night. Shame the Savage Flux is RTR it looks like a fun project to build. I'll be running Baja Sand Tires HPI wheel adapters a Proline Desert rat body an old Xerun 150a ESC (it'll likely fry and I'll replace it with a castle.) a 2200kv Castle Motor Turnigy 3s 40c 5000mah batteries. Stock Flux servo (may get an upgrade) I have various pinions from 20 to 25 and a 44 spur, may need lower. ebay fresh. I was blown away at the size of this thing stock. About an hour later Ralphie for comparison. He was UNAMUSED by the giant robot. Next to my TA05 First order of business is 4 more big bore shocks, the added weight causes it to bottom out after about a 3' drop. And since this things going to be running in sand, it'll need the suspension. I also need to mod the chassis a bit to make it somewhat sand proof. Time to order some outerwear material and aluminum. In fact I'd LOVE to make aluminum panels for it instead of a lexan body.Could turn out very mad max. Kudos to HPI on the flux quality, shame on them for no kit. TCS did an amazing job with this conversion. More to come. |

Ya I built mine up yesterday, and I may need some more shocks as well. I am going with the trophy truck body but was way tempted to do the HBZ sandrail roll cage have you seen it? looking forward to see how yours turns out. http://hbzusa.com/hbz-sandrail.php |

Some fun today. I need to gear down. Cannot use anything above 1/2 throttle without doing a backflip even at 40mph |
