| You should have seen em before I cut them. Well, I guess you can, a few posts up. Thanks. It's finally getting some time devoted to it. Will do, scratching my head on mounting the upper rear links now. Having to research rear 4 link trophy truck geometry. |

Rear mounts for upper links and lower links. Took some 1"x1" square tubing, cut it down the middle and pieced it back together with some TLT mounts inside. Used a small flux wire welder. I am slowing teaching myself. I will tie them into the cage and transmission. These two little mounts took about 3 hours to make. There will be some clearance issues with the driver's side mount. I will cut one of these down to clear the spur/pinion. Start the install soon. Last edited by Szczerba; 09-20-2011 at 09:21 PM. |

| Thanks. Pretty much used them as a template to get the correct width for the rod ends. There is no way I could have made the mounts correctly without them. It would have taken several attempts to get the correct width. I am not a detail guy and don't measure alot of things. I don't have to use them but there is no play with the rod ends in there. I will have to use some small spacers on the upper link mounts. |

All you need is some digital calipers and a deep appreciation for the metric system. Makes life and fabrication soooo much easier.

worked out the rear link mounts. I'll have to box in the one I cut down. I plan on incorporating the cage into the rear link mounts. Still deciding on that layout. Have to tie the front part of the cage into the front suspension too. Rear upper mounts on the axle might be too high right now. decent sized lipo will fit.

Good call tying the mounts in with the cage. I can see them getting tweaked. What size lipo are you going to run? |

3S or 4S. Not sure on capacity. Have to do some measuring once I get the cage all done. You know of a source up your way for 3/16" OD, .030" wall steel tubing? I need a couple feet.

The truck right now is 6.5lbs. And I don't have much more tubing, probably 1-2 ft, to add. And then the battery, body and esc.

Deciding on a battery(ies) right now. I can run two 2200mah's 3s or one 4000mah 3s. Both claimed 40c. The 4000 would be a little bigger in the chassis, I would have to extend the rear tub about 7 mm on one side but it is 1 oz lighter. Might mess with my chassis/rear link mount support plans though! Or I could go with the two 2200's stacked. The COG would be a little higher and they would weigh 1 oz more but I would have 400mah more. Cell phone pic of two 2200mah's stacked. You and ballin' might have to arm wrestle for it. I should rename this build the Tuffguy, Ballin' and Szczerba's 2x4 to 4x4 Trophy Truck Build. I am just waiting on the 3/16" tube to show up. Should be tomorrow or the next day. Ordered two 2200mah 3S 40c lipos tonight.
