| Wheels, tires, and gearing
I just bought a mini e-revo and was wondering what I need to look for when I'm buying wheels and tires. Do I need truck or buggy width? I've looked on line a little bit and they seem to say what specific car they're made for. How much does it matter what car it is specifically made for? Also, can I run wheels that specify they're for the rear on the front? I want to buy a set of wheels/tires for the street and a set of paddles. I've heard that if you change your tire size you need to change your gearing. What is the rule of thumb on this?

You will get the best info for all your questions about this on traxxas forums in the mini revo section. There's miles of threads on tires, wheels, gearing, batteries, and electronics just for the mini revo.

This is what I run on mine for pavement and dirt. And almost everyone on the Traxxas forums will tell you the same. For tires you need Proline Dirt Hawg 1 in 2.2" size. Pro-Line Dirt Hawg Tires 1071 for 1:10 Buggy For rims use Traxxas 2.2 white dished rear buggy wheels on all four. Traxxas part number is 7171. Traxxas 2.2" White Dished Wheels 1/16 E-Revo 7171 | eBay For gearing I would have to check mine but I think I just went down 1 or 2 teeth on the pinion gear. |
