Default need help, tamiya pro touring car

sorry, kinda a newbie ?

i have one of those tamiya expert build chassis on-road touring car that is electric. i want more speed out of it so i replaced the stock 27t motor for a 14t speed jems motor and im wondering, what will happen if i run a 14t motor on a esc that is rated for a 27t motor and powered with a 3000mah 7.2v nimh stick pack. will the esc an all the wires melt or catch on fire. i have a NIB sidewinder SV2 that i have, am i better off putting the sidewinder in so i dont run the risk of fire with the stock esc.

It depends what tyres you put on it, if you intend drifting it (which is popular with the TT01) then plastic tyres won't strain the ESC so you could get away with the 14T, but it's not ideal for that use

The stock ESC won't last long with much less than 27T on rubber tyres

...you'll be really hard pushed to damage the SV2 with any motor you could drive in a straight line!

i also can put the sv2 in my night crawler and put the losi msc-12l esc in my tamiya but losi does not give a motor limit for the esc, i would imagine it would be ok. i have the stock rubber slicks on the car and im not drifting, preety much just racing up and down the black top and take a few tight turns, kinda like autocross or as some put it, touring.

another thing i thought of doing was putting a dynamite fuze 5800kv systemin it with a traxxas 7 cell nimh 8.4v battery but the question is, will the plastic diffs hold up because i have never messed with awd street cars

The MSC 12SL is a 12T ESC so presume the 12L is the same

yeah ha ha a losi 1/10 strike as stock has the same esc as the lnc just in a different setting and runs a 12t motor so it probly is rated for a 12t or above. so monday i will solder my correct connectors on the sv2 and put that in the lnc and put the lnc stock esc in my tamiya so i can get a higher speed

now for my other question, will the plastic diffs be fine with a dynamite fuze 5800kv system and a 7 cell nimh 8.4v battery?

Plastic diff should be fine in normal use, shock loads on the other hand might cause problems - i.e. hitting immovable objects with your new found sound barrier scarer
