Talking Colquitt Custom Sand Rail

Living in New Mexico I couldn't help but notice all the sand that is here.Since my broke a$$ can't afford a real sand rail I decided to build me a scale one.I think she came out pretty good.I still need to hook up the steering and make the front a tad bit stiffer.I'm building another one since I now have 2 brushless systems(I'm sure someone will buy it) then I can drag with someone else.Enjoy.

Wow! Very impressive! Looks just like something you'd see blasting around Glamis.

Wow, that is some diff clearance. I'll be interested in seeing what your steering looks like up close. That'll be pretty fun to watch. There's a perfect spot where they run dune buggys on this side of town. Actually it is further up and you get at it from 9 mile hill.

Will it be rtr tomorrow? If so maybe you can head out this way and we'll get some vid of it.

I'm running a Stampede tranny,it's not locked but I do have CVD's on it.The Brushless snaps the stock drivlines like crazy.

I'm almost done with this one.The purple came out sick! It looks like a black, but in the sun it screams! I put some TMaxx paddles on the rear, these should shread some sand pretty good.Whatda guys think? It has the same setup as the red one, just different wheels.

Thats pretty cool man. What parts are you snapping on the driveline? I just tore up my first outer shaft today, and I have abuse my pede with a lehner 4200 for a long time.

Well when the stock driveshafts were on there those would get twisted. Now that the CVD's are on, the carrier breaks if you lay on it when its bound up.Besides that no probs!

I think Proline makes some like you are talking about, but their site is down, I'll try to find a link somewhere else.

EDIT: I found them. Are these the type of tire you are talking about.

wicked dude, you should look for some old rc10t front narrow tires for them, that would make the package that much better.

I like the look of the bigger tires MUCH better.

BTW, what rear end (motor and tranny section) are you using there?
