I don't think so. The first crack it was pretty warm. The morning of the collision was cooler, but all the rear end damage was done when it was 50-60 degrees. I really just think it is the lexan they are using in these bodies.

Anyway got it all cleaned up today. Probably a pound of dirt that was basically concrete, took an exacto knife, a tooth brush and about 4 hours. Also got some new parts on and some side guards. Now I just need to track down a under body and I will be set.


The side guards are not an exact fit or made for this car, but they seem to work out fine.



I also went to some velcro strap to hold the battery down, it will be easier to deal with then the body pins.




I also made some mud guards for the rear axles and added a sway bar to the rear. Its coming together a few more things to do to get it were I want.

That is kind of what I figured. A Inferno body should work for the length the only thing I am unsure of is the width. But my local hobby shop has a inferno out of the box, I can check the body fit there.

I miss having a brushless converted nitro, it has been a few years... I think this has stirred something inside me.

Is that clear vinyl you're using on the chassis pan?? Was thinking of doing the same on my tb01, my trip out east in the sand did a number on it.

It would be good to see a few more pop up. There doesn't seem to a ton of them out there, but boy are they fun.

Kind of. It is Team Associated Chassis protector. Part number 9787. Get it, it is one of the best things ever! You can use it on everything.

Inferno MP9 body made by Proline.
Fits pretty well, had to melt the back corners in to give a little more clearance on the rear tires, other then that it fits really well. This should keep a lot of the dirt out.

Great thread, alot of good info, I bought a drx last week but I think I will wait for a bit before I convert it to brushless, will try and master nitro for a bit. What side guards are they you are using?

Thanks, might get a set. have you tried them yet? Do they keep much dirt out? I got my drx a couple of days a go, I am considering vacuum forming one peice wheel arch sets for the front and back to keep the dirt out completely, with it being nitro i cant really put a dust cover over it like I could if it was electric....

I was thinking wheel wells too. Would keep out most of the crap. I'll probably pick up the side guards and an mp9 body though. Too fast/simple.

Gotta find a way to mount mudflaps too. Can't believe you haven't done that yet Ty!

Drove it on the street the other day and nothing got it. The side guards are tight to the chassis there is no way anything will get in the seem, between the side guards the associated chassis protector on the bottom and the MP9 body, not much will be getting into this car. If it gets in anywhere it will be in the front were the steering is, but I already have some ideas to fix seal it off.

The wheel arches would work, but its not going to seal off the chassis from everything, it will help, but the tires are not the only place dirt and rocks come from. For your nitro though it couldn't hurt.

Its on the list, I need to make some for two other rigs too, I just need to bend some piano wire to support the flaps independent from the body.

I have tried gluing flaps to bodies before and they rip off in minutes, but I have a couple ideas, one of them is bound to work.

Yeah I had good success with my electrical tape flaps long ago. Attached them to a strip of lexan bent and attached to the shock tower.
