One 'Pede tranny, just for the test fitting. The final product will have an FLM billet tranny, aluminum idler, steel yokes, and hardened steel differential... to better support 14.4v brushless power...

Hey cool. So my idea of using the tubes in the front worked out.

Looks damn good DJ. Congrats on the sandrail radishkid, those things are a lot of fun.

Update!

Nearly 5" front suspension travel! I opted for my own variant of front suspension and steering mounts. Things are kind of cramped but I'm working my way around it.

Default Finished for the night 7/15

Well, I shimmed the front suspension mounts with 3/16 x .028" K&S stainless steel tubing. To do so I had to shave the arms quite a bit, but they're now 100% slop free.

The top mount is out of .032 thick aluminum sheet. The servo is mounted directly to this. It is very clean and functional, held in place by 5 small zip ties.

Default Mamba Max Arrived...

Well, a few things happened over the past few weeks. My frame went out to the powder coaters. I got married after 6 years. I went on a trip, had a birthday, and this special order showed up from my hobby shop, the owner is now way interested in crawlers... I can't decide whether or not to schmuck it off on eBay or install it as soon as I can.

Specs: Mamba c36 7700kV
2c LiPo or 8cells NiMh

This rail's gonna fly...

Watch your heat very carefully with that motor, it is a pig on the amp draw. I would have recommended the 4600 combo for that rig.

FnA though, that ride looks sweet.
