Want general basher recommendations

i had a shitty helion dominus and now have an arrma raider that i like, but it just cant go off road as well as the truggy did even tho the helion would break every 5 minutes.

im looking for something NOT a SC that i can take out back and just run/jump and generally raise hell.

the only thing im looking at right now is an ECX Ruckus but thats really all i know to consider.

if you have a good car thats great fun doing stupid stuff, let me know!!!

If you're looking for just a basher id suggest a slash or rustler.

Find a cheap Rustler off CL and throw another $100 at it (motor/ecs)
I have $200 total into mine and it can take a licking and its fast as f.
"thumbsup"

Re: Want general basher recommendations

Since SC trucks have large bodies and large effective bumpers they tend to have better durability than their stadium truck siblings. While the low ground clearance 2wd's aren't true off road machines, that doesn't keep my Blitz from tearing up motocross tracks and sand pits, and it'll zip across decently mowed grass. A Blitz will take more abuse than any other RC out of the box IMO. Drives pretty darn well with the stock setup as well.

If your put off at almost toy quality trucks, then skip the Traxxas offerings unless you can afford a Revo.

My mini revo vxl has taken a better beating than all my other RCs combined. A great basher and stupid fast.

Re: Want general basher recommendations

I use a 4x4 slash as the daily basher. Its been rebuilt with mip/rpm parts it likes the launching ramp snow banks this time of year.

I have a blitz with 10t on 2's. Only thing I have broken is a 6 dollar part( after takin a head on with a slash on ripsaws at full speed) But if you don't wanna go SC an Exo is an awesome basher.

Re: Want general basher recommendations

slash 4x4 with the vxl 3s brushless setup is definitely a greAT WAY TO GO. LOTS OF SPEED AND RELATIVELY RELIABLE. LOCAL HOBBY STORES TYPICALLY STOCK MOST COMMONLY BROKEN PARTS FOR THEM AS WELL. I HAVE ALSO BASHED AN EMAXX 3905 FOR MANY YEARS. IT TAKES A SERIOUS BEATING!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SEARCH FOR A NEW BASHER

DONT FORGET THE KEY ELEMENT...HAVE FUN

The axial exo terra is a great basher. Drop in a 2.2 3s and its a blast for back yard bashing.

REV666 03-05-2013 07:21 PM

Re: Want general basher recommendations

i got a wraith and now im kinda happy. my concern of the exo is the ride height. i have a arrma raider right now and its LOW and kinda useless for my driving style. i hear scuttlebutt about an axial that is similar to the twin hammers that im kinda waiting to see if its true or not before i make a move toward that

I picked up a Arrma Granite last week and the thing is a blast! My daughter has run it into a ton of hard objects and no breaks yet. Big Squid RC did a good review of it. ARRMA Granite Review « Big Squid RC

Stampede. I would go with a vxl but maybe in 2wd to keep the cost down.

Traxxas = Bash.

I went through a few bashing trucks before I finally gave in and picked up a used Slash 4x4 with some upgrades.
I put a cheap used VXL in it and 2.2 RPM wide offset crawler wheels with 2.2 Pitbull XOR's...
I frickin love it!

Another vote for the the slash. Ive got two of em and they're both awesome! My favorite is my SSC LCG slash with MIP shafts and PROLINE PROTRAC A-arms on 3s:twisted: It literally peels the tires from the rims:lmao:

my issue with that thing is its the same chassis as the raider. i could just mod it to be a MT...

as i said, the wraith is satisfying for now, if i could quit stripping servo arms....

i have an interest in the proline rat rod body for the erevo, but its 1/16th and little/non basher
