Looks good . One of these will be my next project. I want to have somebody make some bumpers on a 3d printer maybe even a scale chassis with frame notches built in . The 3d bumpers could be sent off for chrome , that's what the model guys do .not sure what it costs tho.

Thanks. I don't think Ill be sending them off for chrome. I don't want to spend anymore than I already have on this body. Those 3d printers are going to revolutionize the entire world. Wish I had one.

Thanks .

So I got the spokes in and mounted them up.

I love the look, but the offset is killing me.

I can only narrow the track width by a total of 3/16 or so which I havent done yet. Im going to search for some zero offset spokes.

Thanks

I ground down the hex until it was about 3/16 wide. That narrowed up the track width by over 1/4. Then I also ordered some 0mm Offset Spokes to bring them in even more. I should have them tucked in fairly good once I get them on.

Ive got it all under white primer in preporation for the bright colors. Im thinking about doing a wide stripe 2 tone with the ice blue and lime green. I've got some blue LED strips coming to go undernieth. And I have my Yota interior cut to fit and fully assembled as well. I have two different colors of flocking ordered to cover the interior to give it all a velour look.

After filling in the rear tailights I cut out this design

Im going to backlight these with several red 5mm LEDs.

I got in a sensored brushless combo from HK. Its a 10.5t TrackStar motor and a 45a ESC. It frikken moves out on 3S.

I really like how the taillights came out. And the track width looks better already. You're making me want to build a lowrider.

I vote for a chop top. (I know this is a convertible, but you get the idea )

No convertibles or chopped tops in store for this lowrider, lol.

So I haven't had much time to work on this project. But I did manage to work on my grill. It still has to be sanded to the contour of the front end, but you get the idea.

It needs curb feelers, boomerang antenna, fake looking stick on vents, moon visor, a sticker that says Michocan and a virgin of guadalupe sticker in the back window.

Thanks. I am doing the cadiallac taillights. Right now Im kicking ideas around for them. I'm thinking about going a different route on them now, but they will be on the bed, not the roll pan.

Thats the idea sir . I added a little point at the bottom of them though.

I also decided to go with this spoiler .

Just kidding .

I did get the front end done.

I decided to move on to the Cadillac-ish tail lights. I wanted to smooth over the tailgate and recess the license plate. So I started with a piece of styrene.

After getting the piece glued on I sanded it down.

I have this license plate that I bought that will look right at home on this rig.

Here are the tail lights in their 80% finished state. I'll finish up the details on them when I move on to paint. I also cut out the hole for the plate and used .20 styrene to box it in. I left a small hole on the upper inside area of the box for a plate light.

Here they are lit up.

I'm just waiting on flocking to finish up the interior. It'll resemble suede/velour and should look good with the trucks theme.

With the glass and interior so far.

I'm not gonna lie, I was worried when I saw your pic with the spoiler lol. I was relieved when you said you were kidding. The tailgate looks great and the taillights look pretty dang slick too. Keep up the great work!

Looks great!

On the track width issue, you could cut down the center of the body and add, a bit to make up any differences.

Lol. Don't worry, there'll be no spoilers on the truck.

Thank you sir.

As for the track width, I've got some 0mm wheels for it coming that will knock off 6mm. Hopefully they will bring it in enough to get at least close to flush. I can't widen the body because Im pressed for time on the paint work.

Im trying to decide on a paint scheme now. I've got over $60 worth of Testors paint Im throwing at it. I want this to be a piece to represent The Chop Shop in August at the Show N Shine. I'm thinking several colors of flames in a two tone and then Lime Ice metallic on the top half. I've got blue "neon" to go undernieth, and my 0mm offset wheels showed up yesterday too. I brought my track width in about a 1/2" or so. The wheels stick out just a little, but I don't have time to modify anything else on the rig to tuck them in. I REALLY wish I could, but I can't. I'm also trying to fit a servo in to raise and lower the back end. Then I'll use some magnesium or lighter flints under it to get a spark show when I drop the bed. More updates to come.
