Default need drifter suggestions

I am looking for something I can build up and honestly be more of a nice shelf queen that I can take out in between my breaks from crawling.

Looking for suggestions. I know about any onroad touring chassis can be made into a drift car just by shifting a few things around and putting the right tires on it

I was thinking about the mst 01D or the Tamiya model kit they offer in gold edition. I had a hpi sprint2 before that was pretty nice but wanted to try something different this go around. Looking for a kit so I can enjoy building it up as well. I probably will want something that I can do cs on.
Main concern is good online part support. Not looking to break the bank but don't mind spending if its nice.

with that being said what drifters are you guys using?

I used to have a tamiya tt01e and it was pretty cheap and really easy to drift I got a used one on eBay that was brushless and had some aluminum hop ups for under $200 then spent about $150 for a full yeah racing aluminum hop up kit and it made almost everything aluminum that car had cheap replacement parts and honestly in over 100 hours of drifting it the only thing that ever happened is screws would come loose and one time I broke one upper tie rod ball end cuz it was plastic and hit a pretty big hole also just for kicks I got drift tires on eBay that had metal strips in them so when u drifted at night sparks flew lol

typically a dedicated drift chassis will have the motor up by the front shock tower, either in front of it or behind it.

i run the TA05 VDF 2

buddy of mine runs the Sakura D3 which is priced very nice. but is setup for countersteer.

Thumbs up Re: need drifter suggestions

One thing I forgot to say was also that the best upgrade I ever did to that car was a locked rear diff and front one way diff it made it sooo much more fun to drift but u have to relearn to drive it if u never have had your diffs that way lol

Yeah its very important to not go to crazy with a drift car first motor I did was a 3.5t it was ridiculous best setup is between a 13.5t and 8.5t the higher the turn in that range the more control the lower turn in that range will give u more speed inyo and throughout a turn from me experience but if u have ?s u could always pm me or honestly go to all your lhs and only go into ask ?s and make sure to find the drift guy u should b able to find at least one between your lhs

I found this on the Forums for a great deal. Not the most advance rig by any means but has always worked for me with no problems!
