Default nitro motor question?

I am trading for a hpi rs4 evo 3 in a few days and picked up an os .18tz motor for it because ive been told that the stock motor in the is crap.

does anybody know if the stock hpi clutch, clutch bell and pipe will work with the os motor?

I think that RS4 is a .18 so the tuned pipe should be good as long as the port is the same. The clutch and bell come with a car not the engine. Same length shaft will work with both.
Trash the HPI like a stolen car then put in your OS.

i have the rs4 now and other issues have come up!

the hpi motor uses a roto carb but the os motor uses a slide carb, which isnt toohard of a fix.

also the stock motor mounts to the car with 4 countersunk screws through the chassis, directly into the motor. however the os motor doesnt have the holes. so i need a motor mount. so does anybody know the part number for rs4 motor mounts?

How unfortunate. I Did not know HPI engines had built in mounts. Best bet is to take the HPI engine to your LHS and try to match up motor mounts with other kits. Most any kit mount will work with your OS but the chassis holes are an unknown. Also I noticed the HPI mounts run side to side where most others are front to back so check that too.
Good luck!!

i was able to get motor mounts for an hpi rs4 3 but i got the stock motor running so i decided to run it that way....... well it didnt last long!

i took it to the lhs last week and they got it running. after 3 days of running it, and not even a full tank through it, the motor lost compression. so im back to trying to get the os .18tz motor to work.

do you know of a flywheel, clutch and 2 speed bell that will fit the motor and work with the rs4?
