Default Mystery shed find vintage 4x4

So today I was at a garage sale when I spotted a sad looking vintage RC car in bits in a box of assorted junk.
No idea of what make it is, it appears to be about 1/8 scale offroad 4x4 chain driven, with cantilever style (horizontal) shocks and an oldschool ENYA .21 that appears to be seized.
Suspension is indepentant trailing arm style all round.
Chassis is 2 parallel solid square alloy rails about 1/4 x 1/4 inch
Everything appears to be there (had to purchase the whole box of crap as it was a 'moving' sale) so it should be an easy fixer upper
At $10 I figured it was worth the gamble, not sure if I will restore it or modify it or both.
Can't seem to find anything online that looks like it so far
Either way its a cool vintage car even if it just ends up as a decoration in a man cave.

Pics when I get home

Sounds like a nice find, from your description of the chassis and chain drive it sounds like Kyosho to me, be good to see some pics though.

Sounds like a Kyosho vanning/land jump.

Yep its a landjump according to google.

The Good :

Almost everything needed to have it running is there.
the motor freed up with minimal effort, still plenty of compression
The drive chain got a good soaking and has also freed up nicely

The bad :

The chassis is bent and 1 shock absorber is destroyed
missing/damaged throttle and brake linkages
drive cup grub screws have been stripped and re-drilled poorly.
Some of the bushes are badly worn and will need to be drilled out and replaced with bearings

The ugly :

The roll cage is missing, as is the front bumper and probably a few other bits and pieces. this is where the dreams of restoring it ended abruptly.

As finding original parts for it will no doubt cost a small fortune, I plan to do a simple resto mod just using the hand-me-down parts from my other rc's and a few homebrew bits like a rollcage etc.
That being said i won't make any irreversible mods incase i come across the missing standard parts later on down the track.

I will hopefully run the vintage AM Tx/Rx that came with it just for shits and giggles and to keep with the costs down to a minimum.
