Default Toyota AE86 JDM Daily Drifter

My goal for this build is to go with a JDM style drift car that could also be a daily driver. Lots of cool scale touches and a sweet drift paint job not full on Formula Drift style.

Specs:
X-Ray T2 Chassis
Speed Passion ESC & 17.5 V3 Motor
Gens Ace 5000mah Batteries
Solar Servo
Spectrum TX/RX
HPI Toyota Trueno AE86 Body
Tamiya Interior
Yeah Racing Wheels/Tires
Intercooler
Muffler
Wipers
Mirrors
Brake Discs

I did some trading and acquired an X-Ray T2-007 and most of a T2-009. I took the best parts from each and built a good rolling chassis to start with. It has an Exotek lipo conversion chassis and all aluminum steering parts. I put the solid axle in the rear and the diff up front.

Body and wheels aren't hear yet so I started working on the interior. Since I am going for the daily driver look I added some felt to the dash and rear hatch area for covering. I started cutting some diamond plate panels and am working on plans for speaker rings. The felt may have been a mistake but I wanted to try something a little different.

I've been working on the interior on and off all day. Just need to finish the driver's helmet, steering wheel, and shifter.

I added speaker rings and mesh covers, a long e-brake handle, some diamond plate panels, and plumbed the oil cooler.

It handles pretty well. It needs a little fine tuning but its a good chassis for drifting or racing if you can afford parts.

Thanks! Its been a fun build.

I finished the interior. I'm pretty happy with it. Especially the driver.

I also picked up some Doll House dice at Hobby Lobby. These will go inside attached to the body like they are hanging from the rear view mirror.

Its hard to beat the wheels and tires for $15 bucks.

Looks great! Not a huge fan of the huge spoiler/wing on the back but other than that it looks like a great DD to me =)

Makes me miss my datsun 510 cup racer

Nice haichi-roku! I really like the interior details. I like the fuzzy dice detail. Its hard to tell in the pictures, what exhaust is that? I am using the HPI tuner kit on my 86 and it looks a little cartoonish. Yours looks more proportional.

Thanks for the compliments. I think this is one of my best looking rc's. I had fun building it and it is a blast to drive.

The muffler came on a parts tree with the inter cooler and some other stuff. I ordered it from R2 Hobbies a while back. I think The Toyz has them as well and would be quicker shipping.
