Which 1/8 4WD buggy?!?!?!?!??!

Hey all,

I know this is a Crawler forum but its also my favourite forum so I figured I would ask here.

I can't decide between the following 1/8 size 4WD Buggies:

-Losi 8ight electric 3.0
-Mugen Seiki MBX7 Eco
-Tekno EB48.2

Please help!!!

Out of those 3 I would go with the Mugen.

Dang, thats a good list:ror:.ive ran losi's with really no problems, but ive heard guys that have mugens say nothing but good things about them, and a buddy of mine has the tekno short course truck and that thing rides like its on rails,so im sure they put just as much time, research, and effort in to their 8th scale.

Sorry I couldnt be more helpful:oops: but I guess it would boil down to which one your local hobby shop carries more parts for,cuz thats a pretty great list:lmao:

I have an RC8, a buddy who races has run the Mugens and Durangos and has just switched to the Tekno eb48.2 and its insane. I drove it for a few laps and I want to toss my RC8 in the trash. I am working on funds to get a Tekno now.

I'd say mugen.

I have the MBX6, and it's awesome. I;ve heard that the 7 improves things even more.

Same here, liked the mbx6 Eco so much that I now have the mugen 7 truggy eco.

They are great, and do not disappoint.

Yup, and durability is awesome too. Being able to run into a stop sign at 70 and only crack an a-arm (still drove it home) is nice :).

Haven't had the chance to take mine to the track yet (1h away, no car), but soon hopefully.

Op, you won't regret it if you get a mugen, just sayin'.

Geez, thats a lot of votes for the mugen.

I went to my LHS and spoke to the owner about a 1/8th buggy. He also mentioned the Durango DEX408 and the Kyosho MP9E TKI. Boy oh boy.....so many choices. He had a lot of positives about the Durango and about the Kyosho, however, he noted the Kyosho is a little pricey. I'm not too concerned about that at this time though.

Will you be reaching, bashing, or both?

What is your reasoning for a buggy over a truggy?

I will be racing and bashing.

I don't have a reason for a buggy over a truggy to be honest. I actually like the looks of the truggies. But, of the two, I would like a high quality 1/8 that can take a pounding and will last. If it means I have to spend more $$$$, then so be it. Both truggies and buggies get raced locally but I believe the buggies are more popular?

I was just wondering. If you get a buggy or truggy now, and later you decide you want the other... With the Mugen mbx7 the parts are relatively interchangeable. Not that I have had to do this. :D They are close to being indestructible.

I was impressed by the HPI Vorza Flux.

1 thing I learned personally is not to bash what you race.

Full fledged race machines don't really make durable bashers..there's a reason they weigh so much less than a 300 dollar basher such as an ofna LX buggy.

I personally would pick either racing or bashing and decide on a vehicle from there.

I did however turn a basher into a full fledged racer..lol
Just my .02

I would chose a racer over a basher in this case.

That Tekno buggy is killer.

I used to race Mugen (mbxt5 & mbxt6). In my honest opinion, they dominated at our track.

I'm looking to get back into track, and I am seriously considering the tekno buggy from every thing I read.
