I built a prototype 1/6 open wheeled winged sprint car that is based on a slash 2wd. It has an offset chassis and offset suspension. I was commissioned to build a total of six of them but the track decided not to run DO after I built the prototype. The cage and wing come off in one section and the truck could be set up to rum LM relatively easily. Unfortunately it doesn't fall within DODC (dirtovaldotcom ) rules since it has offset suspension but the car is a hoot to drive.

cool... I was gonna build what some may call a super latemodel based off the slash.. (its been done I've seen'em) but the thing about those is you run 2.2 wheels but outdoor stadium truck racing is dieing. only tires you can find now are pretty much made for indoor racing.. but I have the stuff to make an offset chassis and a wide 1/8 chassis.. just needs tires. the track owner said I could race it in the regular lm class if I get it up and goin.. you got any pics of yours?

here is mine... I kinda fudged up what my upgrades are though..never really think about'em unless they break.

its got a futaba servo and 3prka controller. mip driveshafts, 17mm hex adapters, and team associated method race wheels(sounds illegal but they aren't) while the wheels have a 17mm hex they only fit 1/10 tires. the wheel hexes give me the option to rotate the wheels when needed. in the pick the rear wheels are 1/8 scale
the front wheels are the new proline strikers, I use either duratrax or dynamites on the rear it has 27/83 gearing but depending on how it runs when I go back to the track will determine if I keep this setup. as it stands I cant drive it at home, the gear ratio is like 8.3:1...I did run 25/83 but I can't keep up with everyone with that.i might have to go into the 7's (I never knew the potential of the esc and motor till I started racing with it.

we have a "SUPER" speed way made for 1/5 late model and top speed is everything.. we can gear our cars with really low ratio's bc we have 15 lap heats and 20 lap mains so our feature races are about 4 mins long

the other day when I was test driving it I could run for about 5 mins on 3s and my temps were only in the 120 range and castle say you only have to worry if you get to like 220 225 something like that so it will definitely run faster

I have a thread on here titled "1/6 handbuilt sprint car" but I'm not sure how to link it to this thread without posting my personal account too. The car is hanging on my wall waiting for a place to run. I am talking to my landscaper about clearing an area early in the spring to build a track (albeit a small one) in the bottom corner of my yard. We were going to do it this year but we couldn't get two days in a row without rain and were afraid of burying up the bobcat. My dad has a terramite that may work better but finding two dry days is still the hard part.
