Thank you! I would be very pleased if my build is encouraging you to get you a Blizzard too. Same happened to me. I saw some great builds an I was lost.

I have to take care about the tools in the bed to prevent them from falling down during my rumbling rides
Bolting them to the side of the bed is more for a 4x4 truck, as most landscape gardeners just bolt a pice of sewer pipe vertically on their truck bed and stick their tools in. This keeps them in place and also close at hand when getting of the cab. Just plain easy.

I started with a pice of aluminium pipe and cutted it down to the right lenght:



Glued a pice of styrene to one end:



Drilled some threaded holes for later attachment:



A small ring of heat shrink tube will make a nice pipe collar:



And paint, lots of paint:

I am working on the "Schlepperdreieck", which is a coupling for farming equipment. Normally the coupling would be lifted hydraulically, which is hard to do in rc modelling. Even the geometry is giving me some headaches. So I did a rough sketch in CAD to see the interfering edges and get a feeling for the movement.

This is what I have come up with so far:

Don't know what the implement looks like but I think the lower push frame arms should be straight and fixed together so they won't twist.

You are right. A straight pusharm would be more stable. The pusharm is bend to give room for the hydraulic cylinder. I have added the cylinder in my drawing:



I am in two minds about the coupling. I really like the look of the big red triangle in front of the Mog. But it totally eliminates the aproach angle





Anyway, nice linkage in your project

I finished the tool pipe today. I mixed some light orange to do a slight weathering job on the "plastic" tube.



Added some brackets by using small stripes of heat shrink tube and silver paint. Rust stains are made with a brown marker.





Weather was nice today so I went out for some driving and to take some pictures. Unfortunatelly the ESCs didn`t arm, so driving was canceled cause I had no tools nor the programming card with me

Good thing was, I could focus on the pictures. I hope you like them

Looks great! The Dub body matches perfectly with the Blizz tracks.
Is it a Maisto or a Kamtec Body?

OK so this makes my ev not so cool any more! I do have a few scale mods to improve the scale appearances. What I was going to say is the sabotooth is awesome. I run a 13t sensored brushless set up and it proforms well. For summer driving I put abrasion resistant rubber straps on a set of plastic tracks it's like nikes for your blizzard. I run metal tracks in the winter

OK will try to I haven't posted pictures on rc crawler before. I have them posted on rc snowcats with part numbers. But I will try to get some up

I would also like to see these tracks. I would like to the blizzard in place of having a normal truck so I've thought heavy metals were the only option.

My VW body is from a toy grade RC. I'll add a pic of its original form in a bit here

OK so here is my blizzard. I cut and attached rbrasion resistant rubber straps to the tracks it adds 3mms to the height. I live in Texas and we don't get a lot of snow so I use the plastic tracks with the rubber strips to go on trail runs and light crawling. During the winter I run the metal tracks.

Very true. These things last very well I've probably got 10 miles on them driving on dirt rocks and concrete. Make sure to upgrade to bearings from start to finish in your blizzard. And the chains will stay tight if you change the front to metal or run the solid bar on the front between the front sprocket wheels. If your running the Sr I think it comes with that bar it doesn't on the ev. Also or rc snowcats in the for sale section Gumbavi sells a full Metal drive trains for the Sr blizzard and in his he runs 2 out runner brushless motors off of the sabotooth it's the best ecs's for the Sr blizzard. Also the metal tracks don't hold up well to high speeds.
