[QUOTE=snapon boy;5586968]Extremely overwhelmed at all the hard work and time. Keep it up! Thank You Much respect and admiration for your builds too, Sir. I just like this rig too much to leave it alone. But it's so FUN ! |

Not quite sure but is it new Tonou cover. I think the other looks darker unless that was just lighting. Whatever this is a great looking build. Looking forward to see how the bike is going to turn out.

I understand that. I keep a list of all the parts /mods/upgrades that I want to do to each rig. I was adding it up the other day day and my wife found it ouch! 149 r/c worx's Team Driver |

Yep, I think the bike is gonna be a FUN one (or 2? ). I already got a little brushless set-up and I think I've figured out how to mount a rear slick. I guess I need to just start a thread for it, huh. Quote:
I'm not sure if I WANT to add it all up, (what do you charge for your time? ) .... it might be an "ouch" even without a wife. Last edited by dr frankenstyle; 11-09-2016 at 11:10 AM. Reason: duurrr

| Re: F-100 Boat Puller... the "Grave-Robber" I HAVE thought about doin' that, (I even bought a spare body a couple of months ago ) but sorry, not yet. I'm not really being fair, you may need to jump back to page 6 or so to compare pic's. Once you realize what's different, I think you'll like it better too. If you get it right, you win free tickets to check out the bike thread. (when I start one ) |

OK, I guess it isn't as obvious as I thought. I did use the old's as a pattern, even reused some parts of 'em. Anyway, heeya go .... I'll need the longer ones for the drag-bike, and I've wished I had made shorter ones for the truck for a long time ..... so I figured instead of making a whole new set for the bike, AND choppin' up the truck's just to shorten 'em ..... .... I made the new set for the truck, almost 2 in. shorter. I like these a lot better, should still work fine. And I can use the old sides to make a set that fits the bike too. I got to make some test runs this past weekend. I took the 'Jockey out and tried the new wheelie-bars .... I LOVE this little truck more every time I "drive" it. The TSM (gyro) lets you adjust the "fishtail" if it's slippery and helps you run arrow straight. The new 'bars work just as well as the longer ones did, and look a lot better. The Ipod "dash" is just too dang'd cool too! You can watch the rpm's jump when you nail it, then drop as it hooks up, then rev up again as it takes off. The speedo isn't quite calibrated to my gearing, but its close enuf. I'll get a real trap speed eventually, when I get the DTS-1 up and going. I got the bike all together too .... then the rider, who was also in kit form ... so when he's assembled he can flex and move as he "hangs on" (where's a humunculus when you need one). For the maiden run I took the bike to a vacant factory parking lot (in the nearest town) and was rather impressed. It takes some "getting used to", but it's pretty cool to run. The forks just "flop" from side to side, so turning seems to be largely dependent on the lean. Because of that, it doesn't like the slope of the highway out front (learned that after a few WIDE turns into the ditch). I have some ideas for modifications, but testing anything will be slow if I can't learn to drive within two lanes .... on a hill. So it's back to town for more practice ..... and probably some more road rash for Scooter Trash. Thanks for still lookin' Last edited by dr frankenstyle; 11-24-2016 at 10:13 PM. Reason: doh ! |

I wanted to show you guys the ultra high tech (aka super cheezy ) radio mount I made for my Ipod. I just cut out a piece of cardboard in a T/Y shape and folded the top into a wedge-shaped "hug". I got a rubber case on eBay for $6 that has a belt clip, so I just clip it thru the "bracket" .... .... and onto the arch on top of the Tx .... ... and bingo. The long tab lets me hold it to the back and keeps it nice and stable. It puts my "dash" in easy view, and I can control my gopro from it, making that really easy too. On top of that, it makes a pretty good handle for shooting with the Ipod , if I want to use it's camera. Oh, here's a look at the road rash I put on Scooter and his scooter. Pretty much the same on both sides, and some on his helmet .... and back .... and toes and knuckles .... and the fairing ..... I'm glad I didn't spend hours painting it yet. Man such a cool combo. I can see a 2 wheel bike trailer in your future! To bad the bike didn't come in molded colors, I would cry like a baby if I just scratched a new paint job, (like I did when I rolled my Little Red Wagon!). Bike looks like a blast, Grave Robber just keeps getting better and better! Mad skills....mad skills!

I'm still scheming up a drag bike project, so I'll wait on a trailer for now. Funny, this truck started out as an "accessory" for the boat. Hope everyone has a Safe and HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!

Well, I got my Traxxas DTS-1 (Drag Timing System) up and going, all connected to my Ipod and the truck. I took it to town today and set it up in a church parking lot to make a few passes. Once I got the lasers adjusted, I made the first run .... here's the time-slip. Then on the second run I deep-staged, and got a little nervous on the light .... Drooped a little off of the speed and ET too .... need more practice. .... maybe next spring. Thanx for checkin' it out. |

Well, my little "Boss-Cat" passed away yesterday morning. She supervised this entire build, so I wanted to give her a mention. She went quietly, lying in my lap in our favorite chair, just about 3 months short of her 25th birthday. (That's right ....25 ) She was one of the best little kitties that anyone could ever ask for, and I want to thank her for helping to keep me in line for 25 years. So sorry for the passing of your furry loved one. Being with you for that long they are just one of the family and will be missed by all.

Thank You. Yeah, we went thru a lot together. Most kids even grow up and move out before that long, and she was pretty spoiled for all 24+ years. It'll take a while to quit lookin' for her when I get home .... kind of a habit. |
