Default '32 Ford Chopped 5 Window Coupe

Now, this is going to be fun! An 1/8 scale (resin) chopped top, '32 5 window coupe! And a test to see who knows what a Potvin Supercharger looks like. Anyone remember the Orange Crate? Was also a Revell model. This is the first build where I am designing the build around a scale engine. that's why the chassis looks so long. It's just under 20" long, will have an IFS, cantilever shocks front and rear, probably brushless power due to the size, and the body is heavy. Will also be following some weathering cues from some of the masters here on SBG!

The Potvin was a front mounted supercharger, direct drive, lower profile, Mooneyes use to sell a kit

Began the mock up process for the engine placement. Need to place it before mapping out the plan for the IFS suspension.

Thanks Dr! So, here is the rest of the suspension, mocked up and not cleaned up yet. I used Traxxas canteliever parts from the 1/16 scale E-Revo, got the blower plummed, and sitting as a roller for the first time.

Oh yeah, I recognized those parts .... like my crawler. Awesome adaptation for that front-end, I think you would make Traxxas proud.

The front track looks wider than the rear, or is it an optical illusion?

OK, yes time for an update. Built a set of headers, will be using a Castle 1406 and SV3 combo, so got the trans/engine mount fab'd and made a couple versions of the radiator surround, settling on the laid back version. Changed the front springs to raise the suspension a tad.

5th or 6th build with them, no issues yet, but only one other with brushless motor, but still held up fine.

Appreciate the kind words Gunner1! Thanks!

Got to the cage/fab work.... '32 Five window is in primer, will need a lot of primer due to the finite bubbles throughout the casting/sides especially! Anyway I am tying to achieve a "barn find" like patina to the frame, adding well placed rub through markings along the frame, like the drivers side roll bar down bar, trying to make it look like someones been in and out of it a hundred times! Have it reassembled into a roller, now have to tackle electronics, a paint scheme I have in mind and some kind of interior.

Had a hard time with selecting a color scheme for the '32 Five Window Coupe build. I finally settled on a nice shade of deep blue, some gold scallops, some barn find patina, chipping paint and red pinstriped outlines, finished in a matte coat of clear. First matte paint job, kinda digg'n it. Now to get this thing wired, finish some details, get an interior into it and some test drives!

Nice paint Joe, scallops came out cool! I especially like the distressed barn find look. Did you use 1/16 pinstripe tape for the masking?
