Default Jebster's sand/snowmobile

I had this concept in my head for many years. Starting collecting parts last year and have slowly been bringing it together.

Everything is working and I'm looking forward to see if it will actually work in the snow.

I do have it set up to switch over to a paddle rear and ribbed front tires for beach runs.

Here is a quick test run video in the grass and some pics.

Sorry. No pics. Didn't know my subscription expired and link to pay for new subscription is broken. Hope to get this addressed.

SWEET! I couldn't tell their "scale", but are the tracks for a 1/10 or the big ones like 1/5 baja 5b? Did you use Gt2 belts? 6,10 mm belt for the transfer of power? Outrunner? Transmission? Belt width ? Way cool for sure. We need more info!

I'm frustrated that I can't post pics because that would be helpful. I'll try to answer what i can.

The skis and tracks are Integy. I believe they were for the savage. The track was all rubber on the version and was just too stiff so I bought another set that you see in the video. That track is multiple pieces bolted together.

The drivetrain is simple. An original scx10 transmission with a straight shaft to a sprocket. That sprocket has the chain that connects to the sprocket on the track driveshaft. It is all powered by a castle copperhead 10 with 1400 kv sensored brushless motor.

The tricky part of this was setting up the suspension arm for the track. The shaft from the transmission runs through the middle of the pivot arm so the chain tension remains constant through its motion.

It isn't as good as having some pics but I took a short video to show more under the hood.

Man the servo star arms for washers is mint. Gotta say all the rigs you've built would definitely keep me occupied for a long long time.

Awesome work as usual!

What size chain? 25 or 04B? Other?

Without the body in the last video, got me thinking what it would look like with a metal cage. Haha.

Thanks. Just trying to keep myself busy!

I've been using 25 for the chain. I find it has the most options for sprocket sizes.

The cage idea has me thinking....

Thanks. Yah, 04B seems to be more expensive and less sprocket options. Just making sure I had the right idea with the 25 size option as well. Have a build in mind for chain drive.
