I bought a Tamiya diff lock cause I tried to lock the diff my self with out making it permanent and everything I used, it still slipped to much to for my liking and would eventually cause wear on the drive cups This is reversible and locks the diff with no slipping and shouldn't wear on the drive cups as bad Tried to stuff it full of cotton balls, tried really heavy bearing grease, didn't use Silly Putty cause eventually it breaks down and is a pita to dig out of the diff I used Plastic Sculpt on the Diff for my TA02 and its permanently locked Last edited by kgb424; 10-15-2017 at 09:55 PM. |

It took me awhile and the last of my almost empty can of the good Easy Off Oven Cleaner, to remove the chrome on these side marker lights, you would think that as small as they are the chrome would come off easy Nope had to soak them a couple times to remove the chrome cause you can't hold them to use a brush to help the process remove the chrome Last edited by kgb424; 10-15-2017 at 10:16 PM. |

I don't like the step that is in the side of TT02 chassis, so took my Dremel and cut the step off and glued it back in place and then fill in the gaps with Plastic Sculpt needs sanded once it dries completely And a little black paint, it shouldn't look to bad Last edited by kgb424; 10-16-2017 at 10:13 PM. |

I took the Yoter cab off my Truggy and the TT02 looks a little to short, it looks like I need to extend the length of the chassis to make it look right, still going with Flatbed on a longer chassis Too bad I cut the bottom of the grill off and front fenders off, cause I'm loving the look of the beater truck especially with the matching bed Last edited by kgb424; 10-16-2017 at 10:37 PM. |

looks like its time to throw a set of custom 4 links and a yota axle on that thing... ;) question is after that, driveshaft? maybe lathe down the pinion to a 5mm shaft and measure distance to input yoke on the yota axle, get a MIP or whatever shaft that will work for that length. |

Hey Shinchu If that the case that it needs extending or four linked, I might as well sell my HPI Mini Desert Trophy Truck and buy me a CC01 chassis and due four linked rear axle ?? I have an extra complete SXC10 chassis and looked at the 1/14th scale Tamiya Semi front axle, I think it mounts with leaf springs or maybe coil springsa, it would take some fabrication to make it work with a SCX10 chassis, too much work for me The CC01 seems like a the better option, cause if I extend the TT02, I would have to buy a longer center drive shaft to make it a 4wd road car with a truck body What the Hell, is with all of the holes in the side of the Tamiya Hilux cab ?? There is 5 holes in the Tamiya Hilux cab and 1 in the hood, the RC4WD Mojave cab only has 3 hole in the side and no holes in the hood Now I got to fill in 3 holes a side and the one in the hood, Thanks Tamiya Also found the mirrors, took me a minute Last edited by kgb424; 10-17-2017 at 05:51 PM. |

Hey Shinchu Could a SCX10 tranny and motor mount and be mounted in the center of the chassis and use a drive shaft to connect the rear end or would the tranny be up too high and create a bad angle for the drive shaft that it binds |

depends how you design the rear suspension to sit. if you use REALLY SHORT rear shocks, and maybe mount them higher than the stock CC01 position... shouldnt be a problem to just poke a hole out the butt of the tub and run the shaft out back form the SCX trans. i really thing you could use the chassis its on now, just mount 4 link and lathe down the pinion in the rear gearbox to accept a 5mm driveshaft (like, lathe down the teeth on the pinion until you are left with a shaft) and the gearbox should hold it in place. leave the ring gear and diff out of the gearbox and just run a crawler style telescoping shaft to a solid axle of your choice (yota II would be sweet on a hilux body). then you would still have the angle and independent front suspension, and a scale, accurate rear axle on 4 links at whatever wheelbase you want. no charge, sir! ;) Last edited by Shinchu; 10-18-2017 at 11:00 AM. |

Hey Shinchu how and where would I mount the 4 links and find a drive cup to fit the shaft where drive gear would contact the rear diff I need to see a picture to understand how the layout works Sorry I'm a highly visual person I need to see it to believe it |

Well that sucks, I don't have the right length of Tie rods or something is wrong, cause the front wheels never return to straight, they are tipped in and only one wheel is doing the extreme angle, I don't get it I tried to lengthen the Tie rod to straighten the wheels when centered, then you lose the extreme angle, got to play with length of the tie rods I guess I'm trying to figure it out, and just not getting it, Maybe somebody can look at my pictures and see what I'm not seeing, I need to walk away from it I got all of my parts for the TT02 chassis and I got the grill and the light buckets for the Hilux cab, need to buy the Toyota badge for the grill Had the headlight lenses and had the turn signal lenses and the lenses and the light buckets for the bumper Still need to find the led retainer clips for the headlights and the bumper lights and for rear brake lights and reverse lights going to look online and see what I can find Last edited by kgb424; 10-18-2017 at 08:40 PM. |

I was playing around with steering and I found a lot of binding on the steering, because of the angle of the turn buckles, cause every thing moves and pivots easily with out the turnbuckles put the turnbuckles on there is binding and drag The steering is still not right but, I did get rid of the binding, I used 2 rod ends with steel pivot balls and raised the one side up with a spacer to reduce the angle on the turnbuckle and that got rid of the binding and drag, it might need brought up a little more But need longer bolts and cause I used the last of the long bolts, might have go to my local Ace Hardware and buy some more 3mm bolts in different lengths Might have to make a trip to CKRC in Sparks and see what they have got in stock and maybe they can help me with the correct rod ends and turnbuckles I bought a normal TT02 aftermarket tie rod set, so the turnbuckles could be to long or the rod ends too short, could be a combination of both, need help figuring it out Last edited by kgb424; 10-19-2017 at 01:44 AM. |

Installed the windshield and there was a gap at the top of the window and really didn't like it, So used some 2 face tape and used some plastic bushing too close the gap in, it looks good now and I also found my Toyota windshield sticker I'm going to paint the cab back with some etchless primer and the some gloss white, I need to trim the back of cab cause the motor is hitting Going to look online, I think I seen a Mojave cab to SCX10 chassis mount kit and could use some of the parts of it too mount the Cab to the TT02 Then trim as go until it looks good Last edited by kgb424; 10-20-2017 at 05:22 PM. |

Both of these are out of stock at RC4WD, I want the badge for the grill and too remove the 4WD part and mount the Hilux part on the fenders I also want a set of the threaded body posts to mount the cab to the TT02 chassis and that's part of the reason I cut the step out of the side of my TT02 chassis Still need to look for the headlights and bumper lights Led/Light retainer clips, the RC4WD one is for the square headlighted grill, not sure if clips are different from the RC4WD grill to the Tamiya grill Last edited by kgb424; 10-20-2017 at 07:54 PM. |

I was looking at your steering issue again... Can you lengthen the lower and upper arms all the way? See if thats the reason? I was just thinking, wait... if the steering links are too long, maybe the suspension arms are too short??? Give it a shot and tell us what happens! Body is coming along great! |

Hey Shinchu How about a 1/6th scale Drift Jeep, I found this 2002 Hasbro Desert Patrol for $44.95 with free shipping, I couldn't pass it up, it could also be traded later on Wonder how low I could get it to the ground with some 1.9''s Last edited by kgb424; 10-28-2017 at 07:49 PM. |

I drove a hour and 20 minutes both ways to a RC Raceway that has on road racing and they had no idea or could even suggest anything for the steering on the TT02 It was a complete waste of my time and diesel and now I'm back to square one and XXXXXXXX pissed off |

I bought 2 of these Traxxas 20MM turnbuckles with metal 3mm pivot balls and going to cut down the turnbuckles until I get the right length, these were cheaper to buy, I wanted to buy different sized turnbuckles on Ebay, but they come from China and will end up waiting, I found a 15mm,16mm,18mm,20mm turnbuckles And if I use 3mm nuts which are 2mm wide, so I can you nuts and washers to control how much get trimmed off, if I trim off 1mm each side gives me a 18mm turnbuckle trim another 1mm each side and you get a 16mm turnbuckle So I'm hoping I can get the tie rod lengths correct, still trying to figure out how to make a adjustable steering bridge. I got an idea but not sure it will work Just got too look for parts I need, I found the this picture of a Eagle racing adjustable steering bridge Last edited by kgb424; 11-06-2017 at 09:43 AM. |

I been looking at the available 3mm X 30mm or 3mm X 32mm turnbuckles and the problem is the center of the turnbuckles are not wide enough to drill and tap to 3mm's to fit a ball end So I found these overdose 3mm x 30mm turnbuckles with the holes, they might work with what ever threaded rod will fit the hole, cause I think they are hardened and I don't have a drill press to center drill a 3mm turnbuckle to tap it I got a cordless drill and its going to suck, I'm still looking for turnbuckles cause these come from RC Mart and they ship from Hong Kong, so looking for turnbuckles options Last edited by kgb424; 11-06-2017 at 12:08 PM. |
