I will have to wait until I get the A arms and measure the diameter of holes for the pins

I looked at a bunch of chassis pictures, and its hard to tell the diameter and length of the pins needed from pictures

Cause every one of Eagle chassis are different and A Arms install differently on each chassis

Yeah baby

Holy Christmas Crap, the TA04S is Reno Nevada, so maybe Friday or Saturday, its now 35 miles away

That can't **** that up can they, we shall see, I also got 2 sets of Tamiya on road treaded tires and wheels coming from 2 older Tamiya kits, that are in sealed bags

Those I can wait on and not get in a twist over like I did over the TA04S cause its nice kit

Maybe these are not Tamiya tires and wheels, cause the kits I have looked at the tires and foams and wheels were all in separate bags, theses have the tires and foams on the wheels and four wheels in one bag

Oh well they should be here shortly cause there coming from Arizona and that's not too far from Northern Nevada, I'm thinking next week sometime

Okay I got the TA04S and the Eagle Racing parts today and already just saved my self some work because the TT02 axle output shafts are the big cups for the stock TT02 dog bones and axles shafts

The Eagle Racing arms have cvd's at the axle shaft and the smaller TA02 and TA04 and TT01 size dog bone, too correct the size difference and still be able to user the diff locker and the TT02 diff

Found these #54477 TT02 Cup Joint - For Universal Shaft on the Tamiya USA website and it then suggests use these #53792 Universal Shaft Assembly - TT-01/2 TA04 and TA02,

I don't need the universal shafts, cause I noticed the Eagle Racing axle dog bone was the same as the TA02 and I have extra TA02 axle shafts and verified they were the same size in 3rd pic

If you look at the pic it has a rubber o ring, so its centered in the cup and in the 4th pic you can see the size difference between the cups

And too save me from cutting 2 of TA02 axles down and filling flat spots so they would fit the locker, so that's saves me right there

I need to look for pins and some spacers and order the shock towers to mount the lower and upper Eagle racing setup and also need to figure out the correct offset for the drift wheels and tires I'm going to buy soon

Going to take me a little to find what I need and might buy extra in case, I got to cut the pins down

All righty then

Really loving this TA04S kit so far, my only bitch is that give you the soft silver E-clips and when I installed the lower rear hubs pins and the front C-hubs pins the clips bent pretty easy

Might go to Ace Hardware and buy some of the harder black E-clips, to build the shocks and replace the ones on the hubs

I also figured the TA04 pins are right diameter to fit the Eagle Racing arms, but looks like a need a bushing cause holes on TT02 chassis are bigger that pins are

I'm figuring the TT02 out as I go along, and the pins for the front upper arms need to threaded and is a bigger diameter it might be the same as the TT02 chassis holes

Will have to look for my Calipers and figure out the diameter of the front upper pins

And the same with TA04, I hope the wheels I bought have the right offset, the wheels in the pic are the original HPI Mini Desert Trophy truck wheels with some Vintage Tamiya road tires and looks like the rear offset is too deep

I took the TA04S

And threw in the Yeah Racing 13 turn brushed motor and the Hobbywing brushed 60 amp Esc and used a smaller 2 Lipo, cause I need the correct size Lipo to fit the battery box

I like It, cause it has enough torque when your coming out of a corner and nail it, it will spin the unglued tires right off the wheels under acceleration

Tried the same combo and same tires and wheels on my TA02, after I finished rebuilding it and the TT02 before I started modifying it for Drift and neither one of them have enough torque using the 13 turn brushed motor and 60 amp esc

To spin the tires off the wheels like the TA04S does, so now I'm thinking of going with a 120 amp Sensored brushless Esc and motor in the TT02, so it gets more torque or maybe change the pinion and spur gear,

Or maybe a lower turned brushed motor with a 120 amp brushed Esc, cause you want the TT02 to break loose so it will drift, still figuring it out

I need to due some research and see what the I can find, I see a lot of brushless drifters and a lot are brushed, so it might come down driver preference maybe there running 3s and have plenty of torque at that voltage

My only 2, 3S lipo's are 5200 MAH are and have a lot of height and weight, they were a good deal, I can run them in one of my RC's so far

Its my Team Associated Pro SC 4x4 and its scary and fun at the park in the freshly mowed grass, so it gets loose but can be controlled with throttle and steering, just haven't used it

I can now cause I replaced the dead fan on the Esc with a Novak fan and have spares fans, if I'm to run 3S, I need to add some air flow and ventilation another side project

The TA04S looks good with the Subaru WRX body, the kit was missing the back body posts, I used some extra TA02 rear body posts with some spacers I was able to get them too come up thru the existing holes in the trunk lid

Cause if you try to go the other way and have them come up thru the rear window, the body posts run into the spur gear, I need to buy some new body clips cause the little one from the kit hurt my fingers

I might trim the foam bumper a little to make it easier to get the body off and on, I need to trim out the cut out the drivers side an passenger side windows so it gets airflow and ventilation for the ESC

Since it sits low in the chassis I normally try to mount the Esc's up high so they cool better, the cut out windows are a simple improvement

I got the Tamiya tires and wheels and they need to glued to the wheels, and they are the middle ones and are a little taller than the ones on the right, the ones on the left are 24mm wide wheels

I looked in the Rally section and some one has a TT02 S, his TT02 S has TA05 A arms, C-Hubs, Rear Uprights which are similar to the TA04 suspension setup

Followed one of the links and found this Tamiya #54634 kit, it has parts that I could use with Eagle Racing arms and the TT02 chassis, the uppers are turn buckles

I took pictures from the manual too see how everything fit together

And in case you were wondering what a TA04 S would look like with a set of Eagle Racing A arms for a TT02

Well here you go and know you, it could done with Eagle Racing arms. they are narrower the TA04 arms, So I would need the Tamiya kit from above and some additional spacers for TT02

Thinking some bearing the fit the 4mm pin shaft might work as spacers instead of using washers for both the front and rear arms and center them in the chassis

It's all coming together now, and thinking about using the same turn buckles for the front upper like the rear uppers have, but need to find 3mm or 4mm ball studs

I still might want the Eagle shock towers for more adjustability

Sweet!!!
Yeah i saw a tt02 with turnbuckle upper arms but couldnt remember which one, i guess its the tt02 s! Pretty cool solution to a very comon gripe for lack of camber adjustment on the tt02. Hmm... i wonder if that would fit tt01 also?

Made some progress on my work bench area in the garage a coiple nights ago, officially told my son he is getting my tt01. More on that in my drifter thread ;)

Hey Shinchu

Looks like to me the TA05 has the a different chassis and the belt setup is different from the TA04, and the suspension parts look the same

I ask cause Eagle Racing makes TA05 kits and has TA05 parts, curious if the parts would fit my TA04

Got a new parts list going from Ebay and the Eagle Racing site, to attach the FRD arms to RWD chassis, still will need spacers, and going to take the 2nd cut chassis and make a jig that holds the axles centered

It's hard to measure the wheelbase accurately right now, so I will make holes at 235, 240, 245 and see what looks good and use the Dodge Ram truck body, this is better than having to flip the A arms and make new front shock mounts

This way the chassis is custom to the body and the A arms are going the correct direction and the front shocks mount like normal

Whoa nice ram where did you get that?! Will look awsome sliding around. Does it have a drop bed?

Cool ideas for adjustable wheelbase. I made a few big purchases for my vaterra build, so drifters will be starting soooon!

The Dodge Ram truck body is a Nikko, that I bought on here a few years ago, I'm going to use it on the cut TT02 or the second parts TT02, I have a new Mojave cab for the TT02 RWD chassis

And a friend is going to make me a printable Flat bed frame to match the Mojave cab, but need to add a 1 1/4'' to Mojave chassis, so it looks right, cause the normal TT02 with a 10'' wheelbase is too short and the proportions are off

The Dodge Ram had a drop bed, I had to cut the bed out cause it would not drop over the TA02 or the TT02, and would looked shitty if I trimmed out part of the bed

So I cut the whole bed out and made a Tonneau cover out of aluminum and used Apoxie Sculpt to attach it to the bed and later on might attach a spoiler to Tonneau cover

I will have a Toyota Flat bed RWD Drift chassis and a 4WD Drift Dodge Ram chassis

I also been looking at Lipo's and I think I found one that will fit the TA04 battery tray with the belt running thru it and might also fit the TA02

Might have to use some foam, cause I trimmed out the ribs for the rounded stick packs, that were in the battery tray's and made a door to hold a 5000 MAH Lipo on the TA02

The Pack Size is 136 x 42 x 15mm and are $12.32 with out shipping on Hobbyking website, will have to order one and see how it fits both the TA04 and the TA02

And then get a second or 3rd if they fit

I was looking on the Tamiya Club site and there is a guy building a TT02 B and he used these shims to take the play out of the A arms, I need to add some of these to my parts list
