haha you can blame me all you want, i have nobody to blame so i blame me too!
I could see why you would convert it to electric. its a great chassis. but nitro is just... for a different crowd i guess. i can see the appeal, like if you actually race in a sanctioned event thing. but just parking lot hooning? electric is the way to go.

nice score on the TA04! that was the "pro caliber" chassis everyone ran if they weren't driving a yokomo back in 2007.

i cant wait to really put some scale details on the AE86 body. removable bumpers exposing under panels, maybe same for fenders and hood revealing engine bay? not sure how much interior i can do. i would like at minimum to have a dashboard, seats, roll cage. waist-up driver figure? full lights of course. maybe a backfire light in the exhaust.

I really don't want a RS4 Nitro to convert to electric, I was giving you a hard time, cause I seen a couple conversions when looking at Drift setups online, I also seen a TA04S that was converted to 2wd for drifting,

When researching the TA04S before I bought it, that's how I knew the 540 motor and ESC that guy kept was for a 7.2V minh pack

The Drift TA04S, they did the rod ends on the upper and lower arms and added a 3rd one too stop the flexing of the front hubs

Will not modify it, will run it on asphalt in the Wally World parking lot, like I do the TA02

Your going a steps beyond me with smoke and detailed interior and engine compartment

And the inner cooler and details

no intercoolers on my Toyotas, i keep em NA! (but most likely will add a griffin radiator from the axial set, and maybe fab an oil cooler) no smoke either, just a LED in the pipe that you can see flashing when letting off throttle to replicate the crackle/pop.

but yeah i plan to make the AE86 my "scale drifter" with a highly modified CC01 base, and the MST will be my "daily drifter" with FRS body and slightly less scale work. (my 1:1 has tinted windows so i might skimp on interior haha)

my son will get the TT01 in 4WD config with the purple Nissan body from last page. we follow a BMX/drifter on youtube named Adam LZ, and his wife Nicole has a purple silvia, i think my son wants to replicate that look with gold wheels on purple, it actually looks REALLY nice! oh and i need to find a good source for 1:10 scale carbon fiber decal sheets... need it for hoods. i painted most of my shells with black hoods as a place holder.

Hey Shinchu

look at what I scored for less than $100 with shipping

Its a TT02 Eagle Racing FRD setup

The Drift truck is back on with a vengeance

It was on Ebay for about 2 months, I made an offer

And winner, winner Cheekin dinner

I got tired of waiting for the Yeah Racing setup cause they have had no new info for months

Don't have a release date, no price or if its a kit or individual parts, cause I'm interested in the motor mount

Cause it centers the motor in the center of the chassis

my draw dropped and i literally called you an SOB out loud

nice find!!! i was really looking for that conversion, but gave up and figure just going with a dedicated drift platform would be way less frustrating and much faster than building it piece by piece.

but dang... you done did it!!!

stoked for you brother and i cant wait to see the progress you will make now!

Whoa crazy...
I dont have a cf drift chassis, just regular mostly stock tt01r with epoxied diffs. Although, i found 2, thats right two ball diffs brand new ready to rock. Anyway, those are rad and look to be for maybe 4wd? Narrow front lower arms might suggest max angle for rwd conversion, but...!

I was making progress on my garage work bench the other night, my son was helping so i decided it was the right time for... a star wars reference.

I wanted you to have this when you were old enough... your fathers tt01! Not as clumsy or random as a walmart drifter. An elegant beginner, from a more civilized era of rc drifting...

Ok yeah so i officially gave him my tt01 and he was stoked!!! He was asking to swap wheels and mount bodies... eventually locked in on the pi s15 silvia body i painted in 2007, its the purple one from last page. Tamiya lame flake, and i think transparent red? Then purple for a super nice looking electric raspberry.
Then he picked a set of show rims and a set of basher rims. Yokomo replica of work emotion cr kai in chrome for bash, show is a set of unknown nismo wheels in chrome i had from somewhere.

After xmas i will get some batts either local shop or online just a couple 4400 mah 2s lipos, or whatever fits where a nimh pack goes on a tt01.
If that blows the esc, i will order up a couple hobby wing 1060ez.

My car will be the tc3, maybe converted to rwd. Looks like i can play with steering to get more angle with some fab work, its got a really interesting slide rack.

Both cars will remain brushed on 2s lipo. No crazy competition, just good old back patio hoonage.

Oh and i will be making some track layouts with heavy influence from famous japanese 1:1 tracks. My back patio is larger than most driveways. Wooop!

*bonus preview of work bench progress...

Andrews tt01 on the bench, my tc3 on the green tub thats LOADED with more bodis and scale detail parts and decals, and the current tomb of my nitro rs4.
And yes, that is an whole wall of pegboard!

And i found my kyosho miniZ from 2001!!!

I found both of these Eagle Racing TT01 Carbon Fiber Chassis', the first one is the low Center of Gravity kit and the other is the TT01 GRT Chassis

Looked and the suspension set says it a Drift Conversation for the TT01 Chassis, I thought they Eagle Racing had a TT01 kit, there is enough parts to make a kit

Grt is the way to go. Where did you find it and for how much?

*looks to me its got a drive shaft to a front diff, ergo, still 4wd and not so great steering angle. The search continues...

I looked online and found this place, and have already ordered from them once, that's where the Eagle Racing steering arms on my TT02 came from, and have parts sitting in my wish list

Its www.broadtech.hk, they have a lot of Eagle Racing parts, The GRT chassis # 3710 from above in not in stock, but for the $29.96 plus shipping there is the #3711 main chassis and bulkheads that is in stock

The chassis' are opposite of each other than that they look the same to me

yeah i cant find a GRT anywhere. but the price is so high, better off just getting an MST or even a yokomo YD2.

holidays are nearly over, should see progress here in about a month

Are you serious Amazon ?? I just looked and they have very little for the Tamiya TT02, TA02, TA04 S, and my Vintage 83 or 84 Brat and soon a 2nd TT02 spare parts chassis

I used to use Amazon a lot, I tried IOffer, Etsy, Craigslist, but never scored the cool shit, and got the deals, like I do on Ebay, I not a big fan of the bidding on items cause it runs the price up

And can end up over paying, I prefer the buy it now, and especially with a bunch of people watching the item, to see if they can market it and resell it I walk in and buy it with the score

I hear ya. I have a huge amazon wish list (8 pages) and just pulled the trigger on the last few things i need to finish my ascender.
But i still need wheels, ebay to the rescue. Found a set for $18 per pair, buy it now.
Aw man i forgot to check how much shipping was. Well, i will see about that tomorrow.

But yeah amazon came in cheaper than my go-to rc site. Barely. Couldnt pay with multiple visa gift cards so i couldnt use the promo code for $50 or more. The gift cards were $50 lol dammat! So i broke up the orders for less than $50 and amazon came up cheaper.

I probably could have called my favorite online rc shop to get the gift cards to work, but thats a pita im not willing to deal with.

I can hardly ever find stuff for my tt01, thats why im just going to leave it stock and let my son have it. Good beginner 4wd car, but i need something more current and rwd.

Why not make a CC01 4WD Drifter and also have a RWD Drifter

I'm making the Dodge Ram chassis 4WD and locking the diffs and will shorten the stock plastic center drive shaft and will drill and pin it, and try to keep it balanced

The cc01 is going to be rwd ;)
Then i want another dedicated rwd with independant rear suspension.

Just cant build both at the same time is what im saying.
I will most likely do the cc01, my tc3 will have to hold me over with front axles amd center shaft pulled, for irs drifting on scion frs body.
But the cc01 will be a scale ae86 build, hence the solid rear axle and independant front arms lending perfectly to ae86 platform.

i will use the tc3 for rwd now, with scion frs body. Meanwhile i will start the rwd cc01 build with ae86 body. The tt01 is now officially my sons car.

So i swapped over from tamiya plug to deans on the tt01 last night and tossed in my sons stock barrage nimh pack. Walked in the house with the car and radio in each hand, found my son and yanked the throttle.
His face lit up like the 4th of july!!!

I too him to shinchu driftland aka my back patio and said, ok. Turn and yank the trigger!
He was so nervous he used his barrage insticts and eeeeaaaaased into throttle hahaa i was like noooo you gotta be MEAN to a drifter!!! Hahahaha!

20 min later he managed a weight shift drift, and the batt went dead.
Hes hooked and loves another niche of the rc world.

Not gonna lie i used it for about 10 of those 20 min lol felt good to rip that thing around again.

Im veeeeeery close to finishing, well ok just getting the ascender running. It will never really be finished, as i still want to put gcm leaf kit oit back, and they are about to release a radius arm front for the ascender that would really make it scale accurate to a real 79 ford.
Then there is the body... so many wys i can go about that but as of right now i can tell you, the jconcepts body is just a place holder for now.

So yeah once i get to a good stopping point on the truck, which should be soon! I will switch gears to the drifter stuff.
Might sell the yeti to fund all of this..? On the fence between selling or going all-in, converting it to a rwd baja truck. Pre runners and trophy trucks are huge where i live. El cajon is like off road bro capital of san diego.

Anyway... yeah my son is hooked and cant wait to focus on the cars. First on the list is radio upgrades (still on the old AM crystal radios!), then upgrade esc for 2s lipo compatibility. I think i can do all that for like $120 for both cars. Gonna buy andrew a flysky 3ch and just another radiolink 6ch gyro rx for me since my radiolink has like 10 model memory.

Woo! Cant wait!
