X Maxx basher tune

Wanted to post my setup. Works on the big jumps as well as on a medium 1/8 scale track.

Stock 8s xmaxx only upgrade is UE shock shafts
50/20 gears too tall for track, but great for skying it
1.5 springs 45 wt rear collars 16mm from cap
1.1 springs 32.5 wr ft collars 22mm from cap
Smc 90c 5200 4s packs mounted fully forward

Very predictable, goes right where i point it

Heres a vid on our truggy track

It needs a little more on power steering and maybe a little bit of shock limiting but the tune is really close. No more rear skidplate violently slapping the ground. If you use heavier batteries ya might need a little more preload on the collars

Re: X Maxx basher tune

I limited the shocks by 10mm and backed both ft and rear ride height adjusters off to 4mm from the shock caps. I now cant roll it on pavement, and almost no wheelies. This thing is so agile now. Gonna try lighter weight rear diff oil to get a little more on powers steering...

Re: X Maxx basher tune

Update... The truck comes with 30k oil in front and 50k in the rear diff. This seems to be opposite of every 4wd truck ive ever ran. The diffs are the same. Rather than refilling 2 diffs, i just swapped them ft to rear and BAM! Instant steering response increase. If you buy an xmaxx, i would swap these before i ever run it. Its free and takes about 10 min...

Re: X Maxx basher tune

Put a pea sized blob of 50k wt oil into the center diff to mix with the 20 million weight. Wheelies were reduced. I can still wheelie from a stop but its harder to pull them. I really like how its driving now on flat ground
