| Crazed Tamiya Prerunner F150
So before I bought any new vehicles I decided to fix up my old prerunner to play in the yard. I had a class set up for them back in the day and we would race them at the local track. was big fun. So I have a few of these TA01/TA02 type trucks.. This was my racer.. First I figured I would try epoxy in the gear diff.... Back together...didn't hold up. Hard Tamiya tires sucked, Couldn't climb anything in the yard. |

So after some research, here was the plan.. Put a ball diff in the rear from one of the other trucks... Put Card Stock on top of the diff rings on both sides.. And tighten it up...locker. ( also replaced as much plastic as I could with black) More Card Stock rings.. Locked on all 4 Still climbs horribly..lol Time for LIPO Power! These don't fit.. Found more black plastic.. Decided it was time for tires and wheels.. Rc4wd wagon wheels.. RC4wd Mud Thrashers.. Little bit bigger, way grippier.. Little body lift and its ready to go.. One of my other old race bodies.. Ready to play.. |

Yeah they were a great time, lots of laughs compared to the associated's and losi's of the day. Proplem I was having now was with a 3s 1300 lipo, this thing wated to do 60 mph! Picked up a new cheap motor.. Now with full take off axial electronics and a 55 turn motor this thing actually works! Its not going to outcrawl anything, but when I am cutting my new trails this is a fun one to thrash thru.. |

Tires and wheels look spot on I really like the TA platform. Only downside is the poor steering angle |

Cool truck and fun project! I recently built one for an ill-handling on-road car. I blame OSRC! That old off-road race looks like a ton of fun. I wish there were more box stock, Tamiya fun races in the US. |

see now that's what i think of when somebody says "stadium truck"! reminds me of when they had the races at the LA coliseum, ivan "the iron man" stewart! great thread for nostalgia. and creativity of repurposing the truck! awesome!!! |

I also set my TA02 for on-road it was originally the Chevy Stadium truck, I like with a brushed motor and found a painted vintage Tamiya Alfa Romeo body

Soo.. I am going to post this on each of the vehicles involved, But I got a big set of Axial trail markers.... I also happened to have 7 trucks running....Tamiya Prerunner, SCX10 Toyzuki, SCX10II, TRX4 Bronco, SCX10II Deadbolt, GCM Skeleton JK, and the SCX10 BFD Deadbolt. Lined up and ready to play.... (Tamiya was an afterthought) So, there are 7 Videos, each one is a stage, I totaled the time after each stage. This was a no practice run it how you brung it type. If I rolled over I started over. Hope you like it, I found it to be interesting. Stage 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU8fciEh5eA Stage 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=is3HfpxEpZU Stage 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C51HLRLKiSo Stage 4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R94yAs2dtp8 Stage 5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV9u_pQgGJo Stage 6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEroQK8otdo Stage 7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp9cG9Dfmeg&t=6s Bloopers.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fs7x4nBwNeA So things I figured out.. the scx10II has a bad ESC, the JK struggles, and the SCX10II Deadbolt is pretty good right out of the box. After Pics... Fun stuff, thanks for watching. |

Got the runner back into the shop as I found an old race body that I ran one time about 15 years ago, It didn't race well with it as the wheelbase is shorter, but its a crawler now , so Lets switch it up.. Fits ok with the bigger tires, looks like most of the issues are in the rear.. Gotta take it apart to fix that.. Wow.. Flipped A Arms and hubs.. Stubby.. That's Better.. After a little trim.. And some hubs.. Got it out for a run.. Video... https://youtu.be/kx0Z7iv3uXk |
