I’m running 2s in my rmx, but it almost sounds like your gyro isn’t counter steering the drifts like it should be. Try reversing your gyro and it should fix it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Up till now I was running 3s because that was the only battery I had that would fit the FXX-DS chassis. I ordered a new SMC 2s hard case and in initial driving I like the throttle feel of the 2s much better. I have read and watched numerous articles and videos and it appears to me that I need much more work on my throttle control.

Your driveway sounds like its fairly grippy and bumpy, well at least bumpy for a tiny car. If you can find a polished garage floor it might be a more consistent surface to practice on. drifting 2 wheel drive RCs seems to be all about initiating the slide with a jab of the brakes catching the slide and very little throttle to keep it going, I always tend to feed in too much throttle. Yeah throttle control seems to be the most crucial part as things happen much quicker than in a 1:1. Yeah does it countersteer in the correct direction?

I agree with everything here. Throttle control. Step down to 3s. Smooth surface. Throttle control. Gyro. Throttle control. Now excuse me while I go check the gyro on my rwd tc3... ;) |

Nice! Have you picked out a body yet? I love how many different models are available for the drifters

Yeah taking my time too. Funding dried up and I need to figure that out soon to get a volvo missile body! |

So... I bought an Onisiki gyro. I have a Savox 1251 sitting around. Wonder if that's fast enough. I also have a Turnigy Sportman (Toro TS50) or a Hobbywing Stock Spec v3.1 in my box of parts as far as esc goes. For motor I have a Speed Passion 13.5T brushless sitting here that I can use. This is a whole new area for me... and I have no clue if what I have is up to par. I guess I'll figure out when I get around to building it. |

From what I have discovered so far with my rwd converted tc3, seems like motor power is not that big a deal, but servo speed and gyro functionality are paramount. But what you listed seems like plenty to get you started. And I have had an onisiki gyro in my wish list on Amazon for over a uear lol should work nice. Let us know how it goes! |

Well I'm glad you responded Chris cause I'm a bit clueless about those parts.

it could be that your rear suspension is too stiff, or it was in my case. what i did was bore out the shock pistons a little with a tiny drill bit. then i used 10wt shock oil in the rear too. also try a softer compound rear tire.

Mmm... Fxxd... Currently looking at building one piece by piece on a main. Some stuff is out of stock. Might just buy the kit even though I don't need anything from the rear... |
