Default Traxxas UDR #ahbeef

Just got my UDR from FEDEX today. Applied a couple enhancing touches to make it look a little more authentic. Figured I should take a pic before I run it because it is the best it is ever going to look, lol.

Nothing ground breaking, just some authentic logos.

Very nice! Traxxas crushed it with this truck.

There's going to be one of them on my shelf this summer! I can't wait until they get in stock online!

Sweet looking truck btw.

Took it out to the farm and ran 2 4S packs through it. I had the stability management (TSM) knob at about 50%. It handled really well. I think the larger size makes it rotate slower so you can catch it easier. I did try turning the TSM down all the way and without any expo dialed into the steering it became a bit of a handful. I think I am going to keep it on 4S because it seemed to have plenty of power but not a ridiculous amount. Dusty pic below. I think it looks even better now. haha.

And....the servo died....on vacation. Can anybody recommend a good fast servo in the 200 oz. in. range with a speed faster than .17? It comes with a 2075X which I think is the stock servo in the TRX-4.

There are likely faster ones out there, but the DS3218 meets the requirements, and is super-cheap, stronger than you mentioned, and has been working great since December for me in my heavy Ascender build:

Brand: DS servo.
Item: DS3218 20KG Large Torque Digital Servo.
Stall Torque (5V): 19 kg/cm (263.8oz/in)
Stall Torque (6.8V): 21.5 kg/cm (298.5 oz/in)
Speed : 0.16 sec/60°(5V) / 0.14 sec/60°(6.8V)
Operating Voltage: 4.8 ~ 6.8 DC Volts.
Dead brand: 3μs.

All metal gears, listed as waterproof...

Available from many sellers for under $20

I went with a SAVOX SA-1256TG. Seems to be working pretty good in my test runs today.

Dimensions(mm): 40.3x20.2x37.2
Weight(g): 52.4
Speed(@4.8V sec/60): .18
Torque(@4.8V oz-in): 222.2
Speed(@6.0V sec/60): .15
Torque(@6.0V oz-in): 277.7
Gear: Titanium & Aluminum
Bearing: 2BB
Case: Aluminum
Spline: 25 Tooth

It was a direct bolt in, no dremeling of the motor cover like with some others. FYI the BEC in the VXL-6s is a 10A 6.0 volt unit.

I got lights! Proline 6" LED kit. It is a little shorter than I would like but it will work.

After much debating and having to cancel an order on a Baja Rey, ive got a UDR coming on tuesday. Cant wait to get it to some of the local bashing spots. Ive already got two 4S 6700 Traxxas packs ready to go. I went with the Savox 1270 which pretty much has the same specs as the one you used.

I am wondering if its worthwhile to get a BEC so i can bump it up to 7.4v and take full advantage of it.

I'm not sure the BEC is worth it. The UDR puts out a true 6V to the servo as it sits now and I haven't had any issues with steering. You steer this thing with the throttle anyway. lol.

Ive ran 4 packs through it so far, tons of fun. Out of the box i replaced the Servo with a Savox 1270 and MFR aluminum upper links / trailing arms.

Like everyone else, my shocks were leaking right out of the box. I tightened up the lower caps, but still leaked quite a bit after my first run. Traxxas is sending me rebuild kits for all eight. No other issues even with a lot of jumps. I'm only running it on 4S which is really fast... cant even imagine it on 6S.

I run mine on 4S only also. I have some GoPro video of it that I am editing and it is pretty cool. 4S seems to still let the suspension work in its range. 6S I think would be just too fast.

If it ever stops raining I'm going to take it to the in-laws house and run the make shift back yard track there with the GoPro on.

First attempt at loading video on Flickr. Not sure the quality is that great. Anyway, this is my Baja Rey on 2S with GoPro Hero 6 black with stabilization on and processed in Final Cut Pro X to stabilize it. Didn't turn out too bad and that is actual speed, lol.

Bump, been a while. Did some paint detail work on the back end. Also just sent an email to my amazing painter about doing a shelf body for this thing. Stand by for awesomeness.

Here's a sneak peak of it mounted up. Got a few more decals to get in the mail and I will post some more finished pics.
