I'm building sandrail chassis that are a straight bolt on conversion for the Traxxas Rustler or Bandit. You could order up a Traxxas Rustler VXL or Bandit VXL(brushless models) and one of my chassis's. Everything bolts right on w/ stock hardware. Another option if you want, I could just set you up with an RTR. Either way it would easily fit in your budget. PM me if your interested and we can work something out. Heres some of my previous sandrail chassis's Last edited by derwood21; 03-23-2008 at 11:09 PM. |

I think RC4WD is coming out with a RTR or ARTR version of their new sandrail chassis. They are in prototype testing stage right now so it might be a little bit, but you might want to look into it. I'm converting my brushless rustler to one of their 4 seater chassis, it should be pretty sick!

Their website isn't updated, the price for just the chassis is going to be ALOT lower than that. I'm just getting the chassis and putting all of my rustler stuff on it. | |

Is anyone still building a sand buggy chassis like the RC4WD Desert Storm chassis for the Traxxas slash 2Wd VXL

Check these guys out. Slash 2wd nearly straight up swap. Just a few mods to convert. I got one for Christmas. Super clean product. Very well made. https://949designs.com/product/rad-r-c/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well I stumbled across the initial thread here by accident, and was happy to see a caged buggy being done, we are rare breed. For some reason, everybody likes trophy trucks. Start your own progress/build thread, maybe there are more "buggy dorks" as we are sometimes called, out there. I didn't know that Lee (949 designs) sold buggy cages.

Buggy dorks unite!!!! Trophy trucks are bad a$$. No doubt. But there is nothing wrong with a class 1 buggy!!! Ok....maybe I’ll do a build thread. I’ve discovered a few things that make this car go together easier and may help a couple people. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You will also be received with open arms on rcshortcourse, in the desert racing section of the forum, and the Traxxas site Slash section as well, should that interest you. Certainly someone will follow the lead and build one of these, where its a parts swap as you stated, I think my Slash will lose its plastic chassis to be a sand car now as well.

Not a huge fan of posting. My work isn’t terribly ground breaking. I’m not a fan of sharing my every meal and location. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I hear you, and agree whole heartedly. However, I want to see races, and it seems I am the only one with class 1 buggies trying to make it happen. A groundbreaking car, to me, no. To others, very likely, there are not many of these out there.
