Nitro to brushless rustler While back I converted my rustler to brushless, milled an engine mount, crafted a battery tray, and added a c.f. top brace. I love bashing this thing on 3s. I'll get a video up when the weather is better. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...acf5e7e17c.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c2b5a0638f.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...93d11bcdd1.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6533ad53f3.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c9bbe61958.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...94fc03f1bb.jpg Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk |

Re: Nitro to brushless rustler Nice job! I have one as well with a N Rustler from the late 90’s. I made a longer chassis for a little more stability but my homemade motor mount looked horrid compared to yours so I eventually bought a mount from rc-monster. https://i.imgur.com/UXWiK2Yl.jpg |
Re: Nitro to brushless rustler This ruslter is also from the late 90's started as a 2.5 then I went with the 3.3 and now a mamba Max[emoji16] I also have a 1/8 nitro ofna on-road that I have plans to convert with a monster brushless system down the road. Main issue I had with the conversion was chassis flex, but once I added the top brace it runs great. Thank you for the great comments hope to see some more conversion's Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk |
Re: Nitro to brushless rustler Mine was a .15 Rustler. :ror: Agreed. Chassis flex was bad on the original. Once I build the new chassis from some 6061 aluminum it pretty much went away. I added a small strip to help stiffen as well as act as a battery strap down point. A big upgrade would be to fit a newer Traxxas skipper clutch onto the old transmission. If I recall correctly, it slipped right into the original top shaft. |
