Free rc10gt resurrection

I got this for free off CL and im going to slowly bring it back to life as I don't have the cash to get everything all at once. I learned it's a associated rc10gt. I've cleaned it and relubed the trans and diff. I went through the motor as it was stuck from sitting for so long. It now spins over freely and sounds like it has compression so I have my fingers crossed. The motor is a fantom fr15. I need the brake arm and throttle linkages, servo and servo mount. It came with an old hitech throttle servo im hoping works. I'll also need some fuel tubing, glow plugs and igniter, fuel, and maybe a body, and rx. I know kinda a long list but the car was free. It also had rpm lower arms front and rear, aluminum front shock mount and carbon rear mount. If anyone has anything I might need please let me know. I don't have much money but just a desire to fix this up with my son. The last picture is when I was done cleaning ithttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...99fc10bbf7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9e661b014e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ad2ce43bf1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d7c710a78f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9829133138.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4e53197a65.jpg

Cool find. Google the electric conversion that has been done. Unless you’re familiar with nitro already.

I used to have nitro cars back in the mid 90s but I didn't really like em. I know more now but yes im looking into the electric conversion. It cost me almost an hour of my time to acquire this car so I wouldn't mind spending a bit on it as it's a solid truck that wasn't used much.

I've prob got just about every part for the rc10gt that you might need in case you're not able to find something online.

Big thank you to high plains drifter for sending me every part I needed and more for this truck. Im in the process of putting this back together. That's my son seeing if the body from one of his rcs would fit the truck. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...92c3a30390.jpg

Re: Free rc10gt resurrection

Looking really good. Hope you can get some video of it fully resurrected and running! I tried to throw in some high-wear replacement parts as well as a few things that I would often break on my rc10gt's. I've used a lot of different brake/ throttle linkage configurations between my three cars and what I sent you was the best one. I would think that with only minor adjustments, it will serve you well. Take care and thanks so much for the kind words. Always happy to help out if I can.

It's strange the rear arms are swapped from left and right so I'll see about putting em back but they seem to fit how it is but I'll still check

All I think I need now is fuel, fuel line, a fuel bottle, and an air filter and I think im set. I work on it when I can but it's hard with kids and a job but I'm doing it.

Re: Free rc10gt resurrection

Here it sits just about to test the electronics. Make sure the linkages work, then ready for some nitro. The motor has an adapter for one of those quick start with the dogbone so I sacrificed an extra CV shaft to make a bit for my drill and I'll start it that way for now. I still don't know if this motor will work, but it sounds like it has compression. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...da0fe4f198.jpg

Re: Free rc10gt resurrection

I found a problem with my remote. it's either my trigger on my remote doesn't work or the second channel on my rx is bad. I'll replace the rx first. My throttle on my flysky doesn't work the servo. Swapping servos shows me that my servos work. I think it's my TX that's bad though. My remote is a flysky gt3b so it's not that much to replace.
