Default GreatScott's F-350 Blizzard...

I finally got to a point of completion on my F-350 Blizzard project. I started this whole mess about a year ago...

The chassis is a standard Kyosho Blizzard with some custom brackets and magnetic body mounts. The electronics have been gutted and replaced with two Hobbywing 1080 ESCs, two Traxxas 380 motors, DX6i, and a waterproof Traxxas RX case.

The Tamiya F-350 Hi-Lift body has been trimmed up between the wheel wells and bolted together.

I am calling this project "finished" for now, but already eyeing future mode. I am not terribly happy with how the wires on the light bar turned out and my redo that whole mess...

As much as I have an itch to buy a new RC or two, I am actually going back to a couple of my previous builds and correcting some of my sins.

In this case, when I gutted this Kyosho, I used a chunk of plastic I had for the an electronics tray. It worked, somewhat, but it was really flimsy, which allowed the double-sticky tape on the ESC to flex and come unbonded. Plus, it just did not look good at all. So, a little time in Fusion 360, and five hours on the printer...

A side effect I did not plan on, but worked out well is being able to wire up everything and get the RX box closed up with the E-Tray on the bench, so much easier to work on. I just dropped it in, bolted it up and connected the motor wires. I still don't like how the motor wires are sitting, it is a bit messy, but they are better than they were before.

One thing I like about this one is that the electronics are simple and clean. That is one of the things that bugs me about this as well, I have six channels, I can put light controllers in there, winches, etc...
Here is what the E-Tray looks like in Fusion.

This tray is specifically made to hole the Traxxas RX box and those ESCs. I made a more generic e-tray for the Blizzard and threw it up on Thingiverse.
