Do I want a Basher?
 

I have a small fleet of scale Trucks - a heavy crawl-tastic 10.2, light weight 1.9 Wraith Endurance trail rig, and a barely graded TRX4 Sport Kit. I run a Bomber Scale Ultra style on the trails around home - I'm not kind to it when I drive, but give it plenty of love after, and it does the work well. It's "built." A B1B is under the wrenches now.

I trail with my kids. We all have a good time. Mom approves.

My son told me recently he wants to drive fast, and not "slow and smooth" like we do out on the trails with the scale trucks. A basher came to mind. I was thinking an RTR Traxxas or something I didn't build and don't really care about, but something that can take the hits a 6yo would give it.

A Team Associated DB8 Nomad recently popped up in the local classifieds. Acc to ad "like new, only two packs through it." Asking 225 with a "new" 4000 4S pack.

Should I jump on this?


Thoughts on the DB8? Any other trucks I should look at? Traxxas? Arrma?

That DB8 will be much more durable than any 1/10 traxxas. And at that price it's a steal. Just make sure it hasn't actually been hammered to snot. Might want to turn the throttle epa down to keep the 6yo from immediately going out of control.
