Default Long Arm Bandit

Last summer I had been doing some parking lot bashing on Friday nights with my friend, who was bringing his mid motor 2wd Slash and Losi 8ight (I think it's a 3.0) and found my Stampede was a bit outmatched compared to either, no matter how well I had it set up. Well...............I had these piles of parts start to devlop.

Well, on Thurdsay, things got under way and as of a little while ago, here's what the above piles of parts have started to look like.

I want to use 1/10 truck 2.2's, and am thinking Proline's Prime T or Hoosier Super Chain Link T M3 on some sort of 2.2 truck dishes, as shallow as I can run without rubbing on the front arms at full lock, which are the extra long Rustler/Pede arms from RPM. Not sure who's wheels will work best, but it looks like the ones for Losi's current version of the 22T will work are too shallow from what I have been able to find so far. I would like something that is closer to the shallow offset of the wheels the electric Rustler and Stampede use on the back all around, but would prefer more of a dish style wheel in white too.

I’ve been a fan of the RPM Revolver wheels. Only color choices are black and chrome. There’s several variations of width and spacing though. Have a mid dish set on my Capra and may run a full offset of my Stampede if I can come up with a cheap foam for big China hyrax tires.

I've got a pair of rear offset Revolvers with paddles that I had for my old Bandit that I eventually sold off, they rubbed the front arms at full lock on my Pede with nearly the same front end (only the front tower and bulkhead are different) with the grey wide hex. They aren't dish either, which is some of the look I want too.

Ok, loooooooooooong overdue update! Here’s the state of this Bandit now, body is painted, ended up going with a Sidewinder/3800 combo for power, finally soldering the plugs last night, painting the body tonight before sundown (will likely back in bed liner before that’s done), and glueing wheels and tires tonight. Still need to snug the shafts to the trans and tape down the ESC and Rex too before I can test it.

Man. Wished I had gotten one of these instead of my Stampede now. Those tires look absolutely sick.

They make them for the Stampede too, got a set that is premounted on their new Riot wheels almost a month ago

In the process of messing with this thing tonight, I found a Proline Racing hing pin brace for the 2wd Slash I forgot I bought in February or March, so I installed that too! The body is a JConcepts Illuzion High Speed for the Bandit and painted with Pactra’s version of Testors Corp’s Lime Ice Green lacquer.

Looks good. I ended up with a bunch of 1:1 wheel weights stuck to the nose of my Stampede to try to keep the wheelies down some.

I’m still experimenting with what to do with my Stampede, but so far I’ve gone to a heavier low profile Savox Servo, put my Rx on top of that and may use tungsten putty in the openings around the servo. In this, I bought the RPM bulkhead, which I hollow, then packed the opening with that same putty I mentioned above.

Ok, here it is with the rear wing installed as well as without that or a body.

I’m looking into setting up a front wing on here too, trying to figure out the best way to do so at this point.

Quick update, found my missing 3s last week and took the Bandit out for a test, and discovered that the servo arm didn’t fit the servo (I’ll admit it, I’m a dumbass, tried using a 25 spline servo arm on a HiTec servo )
Now all that said.......
Well, I’m close to being ready

These showed up today..

And the wing is mounted for now, still gotta try to see which servo arm will work better

Thank’s Brake Weight!

RazorRC mentioned on RCTech that these arms use SAE Hardware, which I had already discovered the hard way before I looked at that thread and luckily had a bunch of 4-40’s that fit for now, but plan on getting a 3mm tap and putting a 3mm back in.

All that said, here’s how it looks now,

I may go and test it after work tomorrow, there’s a couple schools near by with well lit lots since it’ll be dark by the time I’m done working any more.
