That's what ~90% of what my buddies rustler/slash driving is. Considering lots of those bodies fit the slash (and a rustler isn't far off from conversion)... it makes sense.

The power they make these days is overkill for most platforms... so this seems like a good transition to actually using it.

Judging from the pics... looks just like a SC10. May be a good second life for lots of old stadium trucks.

To me the coolest part of the drag car scene is the real licensed bodies... which this is lacking but close.

EDIT: I should also add I do like this release, It is cool to see a purpose built drag car from a big manufacture.

One good thing I can see from it is that most will want a licensed body forcing them to seek out their own.

If this was licensed, you'd probably see alot more identical bodies being ran.

It's the same truck as the DB10 & Trophy Rat. It's basically a B5 with an SCT-length chassis. I'm not sure if it uses the narrower B5 arms or the wider SC5M arms.

I joke, but I am sure I would enjoy some RC drag racing on occasion. I would likely get into drifting sooner

I got enough real estate left in the basement for a Mini z drifting and/or racing track, it's a tosser between that, and some Orlandoo terrain.

So many damn toys, what a time to be alive!

RC Drag racing on youtube is kind of funny to me. You see them take off like a bat out of hell, only to somehow loose control and smack into a curb or something at 60mph. I dont get it.

Yeah, I doubt drag racing becomes any more than a fun new use for those abandoned SC trucks that almost everyone has laying around. About a pack worth of runs and I'd probably be ready to put it back on the shelf for 3 months.

It's really no different than watching guys build an 8S 5700KV Slash then try to race it. Guys that know what they're doing can make fast cars that actually go straight. The rest just overpower their rigs and fail to ever make it to the finish line.

You don't see it as much with sanctioned racing because those are dominated by the guys who put in the time and money to do it right, but since virtually all of the drag events you're seeing on Youtube are informal parking lot races, you get a much larger volume of amatures. Watch youtube vids of guys racing on backyard tracks and you'll see video after of video of out of control, poorly set up RTR trucks crashing constantly.
