| Shinchu goes "Pro"!
Kyosho Outlaw Rampage Pro, that is! Been wanting one of these guys since the "not pro" was teased. Since I sold my yeti a while ago I have needed a "go fast" to fill that void. Now I know these arent as fast as a 3S 4wd 2.2 tired yeti, but it should do the trick for me since I always thought the yeti was a bit much for me. Stop yapping and get to the build already shinchu! Yeah yeah okay... So far all I have done is follow the directions for building and attaching the shocks and wheels in this pic... Then last night I cracked open the gear case and did some pre-drive tuning and failure prevention. More on that when I get a quick vid edited. Got the rest of the parts I need to finish including paint. Color and scheme to be revealed later. Parts I'm running: DS3218 servo (proven cheap and effective) HW1060 br ESC (same as above) "LEDBETTER RACING" secret brushed 540 Radiolink RG6 rx with built in gyro 1 million cst diff fluid Associated spur Protek 16t pinion Gens ace 4000mah 45c 2S I have some other stuff planned but I just want it running first. Gonna try to scale it out a bit without making it too delicate. Having a blast already and havent even driven it yet! Last edited by Shinchu; 03-08-2020 at 10:10 PM. |

Looks good, so far. Even though it's not 4WD, should still be a blast. ~ More peace, love, laughter & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |

Awesome, it's a fun truck. I took my gyro out. I didn't like it. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Skullking what gyro was it? The radiolink is tunable from 0 to 100%. Soze thanks bud I'm trying to put some vid in here but need my son's editing skills. He's really good! I should have rolled the gopro while doing the transmission stuff. Gonna blame that on soldering fumes lol Didn't get to the bench last night, date night did not agree with my stomach lol I was exhausted. (I love Brazilian bbq but man I paid for it lol) Next should be servo installation and final chassis stuff. Then... PAINT! It was raining here last night anyway. Maybe tonight! Clear body but not for long! https://youtu.be/hW2Scqnq8Gk and thennn…? *stage 1 of paint complete! Still haven't revealed the full livery/color yet! Oh and I backed off with the motor, I think Ernie's old secret weapon was too hot. Went with my associated 19turn. ESC is still acting weird with no reverse so that will be replaced eventually with... Another 1060. *shrug* Any recommendations in the same price range are welcome/encouraged. Nice job. Can't wait to get one once I've finished a few projects ... already have ordered a set of SCA-1E Coyote wheels to give them a try. |

Ok so I drove it! I have vid but my gopro is being a turd and not wanting to transfer clips to my phone. Anyway the thing is a handful even on 2s with a 19turn brushed! I managed to actually nail a sweet jump or two but that's after the sharp learning curve of no brakes due to esc malfunction... I rolled it a few times, once right into the tire of my 1:1 truck and one full speed slam into a concrete pole base. It was a small coffee can sized base but the truck stoped instantly and it was so cringe... Hit so hard it bent the front skid, and the impact had such force, the motor shifted forward and made the gap between the spur and pinion so great, I had zero mesh at all. THATS A WRAP!!!! Broke it in like a propper shredder/hoonigan. Its got some scars and gnar. I dig it and cant wait to go back and get better vid at a better location... You know how hard it is for a guy used to filming crawlers to film something moving that fast?! Hahaha Hopefully I figure it out for y'all. Thing is a blast though! 19turn 2s is perfectly quick. I saw one of these in person and it was really cool! The shocks were so smooth, I was shocked (pun kinda intended). Nice looking build you got there. Looking forward to seeing Hoon’ing around |
