c0bra builds a no prep drag car!

Well it’s sort of already built but not fully finished yet! For this build I blame Curb Crawler and his converted b5m!

Anyways this build started out as a brand new b6.2 kit and some sc6.1 parts. Being the chassis, side rails, body mounts and nerf bars. I also picked up the jconcepts drag rear tower.

The build went really smooth, along the way I added a protek 160tbl servo along with a tekin rsx pro and a ruddog 5.5t motor and a ruddog receiver. Now I have no experience with ruddog motors but there receivers are easier to use than the airtronics so I figured I’d give it a shot. As far as suspension setting I did set it up for as little castor and rear toe as possible as the kit would allow and I believe it’s got 10k diff fluid out back. For shocks it’s got 50wt front, 45wt rear.

For wheels and tires I went with jconcepts startec wheels and proline Hoosiers all the way around. For the body I went with the proline nova.

The main issue I’ve had with it are finding a wheelie bar for it. There’s the strc which requires a shapeways mount (mount alone would take a MONTH to ship without paying ridiculous processing fees) and the mount in black is out of stock. Then there’s the jconcepts one which is way more money and requires a sc6 bumper mount. I almost went with the jconcepts but then I realized why not check exotek? So I did and there wheelie bar doesn’t require any extra parts as long as you have a b6.1 or b6.2 and it’s cheaper than jconcepts so I went with that one!

Other than waiting on the wheelie bar to arrive I am also waiting for duratrax gun metal, black and white for the paint job. Will be gun metal up front and fade to black. Pics to come when it’s painted!

Only other issue a the rear body posts. It looks like I will need to redrill them as I can not get a body clip in them without scratching up the body really bad

Sweet! Can wait to see the final product! What battery do you plan on running?

Sounds like a nice rig to buld. Seen many using the 6.1/6.2 platforms.

I bought a 2nd hand lcg slash roller from a local for a sweet price, and picked up a vxl bandid and a lcg slash chassis to convert.
I have one other in the process of building, but still need to get some parts for that one.
This one will be more of a Frankenstein build I call 'What-N-Tarnation'. I have to get the Bandit built first as a few of these items will be used in its completion.

Cant wait to see what you got going on.
