| Looking for a smaller scale drift kit!
Hey everyone. I'm interested in building a kit drift car. I'd kind of prefer to go to some scale a little smaller than 1:10, just because I already have a TRX-4 taking up a ton of space, and I have an absolute blast tinkering on my little Traxxas 1/18 Rally. Is anyone aware of a 1/18 kit for a drift car? Or am I just going to need to suck it up and swallow the pain and go to a 1/10? Thanks! |

I'm not hugely into the RC drift scene but I'm not aware of any. Almost all Drift kits and parts are 1/10 scale. At least a 1/10 scale drifter will be smaller than a 1/10 scale crawler. If you're okay with some DIY you might be able to find a chassis to start with and convert it to a drifter, try to get the max steering angle and add some drift tires. |

Maybe look around M-chassis, their wheelbase range from 210 to 239mm and their bodies are narrow. Sure some might be usable for drifting.

What about a WPL D12 Suzuki Carry? It's 1/10 scale but still small. |

Thanks for your suggestions everyone! Really the more I've thought about it, the LaTraxx Rally that I already have is basically the answer to my own question. Takes a BUNCH of traxxas aluminum replacements to toughen it up but its probably the very best platform smaller than 1/10 to work on. Am pretty tempted to get into a 1/10 just for the wide assortment of available bodies though.. |

I would highly recommend the Tamiya M-06 Chassis. It's not as popular as some of their other chassis but I loved the simplicity of the M-06. It's a rear motor RWD kit. I purchased a Mazda Miata version but there are many bodies that can fit. The chassis was a lot of fun to put together and it's adjustable length allows for many different options. https://www.tamiya.com/english/produ...6pro/index.htm |
