So, turns out the SW4/5700 dont have enough nuts to get it going. But, I need to get a new top plate and bandit chassis. No wrecks etc as It's not been run yet, but now that down to pinion/spur option to run, And wanting to get the front end setup, I am seeing when I trimmed them originally to do some tweaking, I shouldn't have. lol So, I'm gonna get a new front end on the way (Anyone have one? Looking for Bandit chassis, top plate, and plastic bulkhead?), and finish the front end up. Then I need to determine what pinion and spur to run. quick view is SSD TK AR44?( think that's the model they are after) axle with O.D. (8/2 and an SSD Wraith high ratio tranny (1.83:1). So where would you go for pinion spur option? Not looking to hit the line against a Limitless or Felony or even a normal NP. More of a show than a go piece, but I want it to go, which brings me to esc/motor option> I have an RX4/2300hd coming for the Ryft, so that leaves the Spectrum 130/2200kv combo. This combo would fit the theme I am going after for the body. but I originally grabbed a Max8/2200kv combo for the Ryft before I decided to go with the sensored RX4 setup. But that is new enough I can still return it for credit... So what would you go for? Give a little detail as to your choices, please. |

Grabbed some Redcat 64 plastic servo mounts to use to move the steering servo around just a bit to allow for better clearance for the servo arm. Once this is done, I'll be able to take a few shake out drives. She wont be fast with this setup. But I can change some gearing and think I can speed it up pretty well with more pinion and less spur. |

Well, I did something similar to what you're doing, but I built mine before No-Prep RC was a "thing". I built an RC Gasser using an SCX10. I used the ESC and motor out of the 1/8 scale Traxxas Funny Car. That gives it plenty of torque off the line. Hahahaha However, not really enough top-end speed for No-Prep. But you could probably mess with the gearing. I just built mine for wheelies and goofing around. Hahahaha Anyways, here's the thread I made about it (with pics)... BoingRC's SCX10 Gasser And here's a quick clip of those wheelies I built it for... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syEv5q9n4Sw Maybe it'll help give ya some ideas for your build. |
