Default I don't know who needs to see this.

The Traxxas 4tec 2.0 fits nicely inside the RC4WD blazer. Could make a cool bobbed lowrider blazer. Or stretch with a 4tec 3.0 chassis when the become available. Might make a good project for someone.

Cool idea...tho, the hard plastic body could be a bit heavy for the chassis. But, if the Drag Slash body were to fit the 4Tec (2.0, 3.0 'Vette, or 3.0 hot rod), you'd definitely be onto something.

Can't say I disagree. It'd look cool but it'd do much else. I wouldn't mind building a lowrider one day. Today (to-year?) isn't that day. I think I'd want to go live axle, 2wd anyway

Thanks. I have been thinking about turning one into a drift car but I would have to make/buy a longer chassis that I haven’t seen yet. So I picked up a 4tec chassis kit, sold the brushed electronics and have a 3.0 chassis and parts.

Are you going to do a build thread? That sounds awesome

Most likely. It’s not going to be built for speed, and I don’t like 4wd drift cars. It’s just going to be a cruiser with upgraded electronics, probably on 2s

That's probably for the better.
As Panther mentioned, it is a pretty heavy body. I don't know how that would work out slinging it around corners at high speed.

But, in a straight line.........maybe?

All my friends know the low rider
The low rider is a little higher
Low rider drives a little slower
Low rider is a real goer
Low rider knows every street, yeah
Low rider is the one to meet, yeah
Low rider don't use no gas now
Low rider don't drive too fast

Personally, I have two 4Tec be 3.0s...one I'm 'lightly' building up for better all-around user, and the other I'll be building (with help/input from Richie (aka Driftomaniacs), who's a friend of mine) into a speed-run car.

I got the parts to stretch the chassis and have put them on the car. If someone else is going to do this conversion, all you need is the chassis, driveshaft, battery hold down, and the plastic piece for the bearing in the middle of the driveshaft.

It’s a very easy conversion! For the rear take off the motor mount and gear cover. The entire rear suspension comes off with 3 screws from the bottom and then slides off. The front suspension does the same thing but with 4 screws, although 2 are for the battery clip.

Once everything is apart put the driveshaft on the 3.0 chassis and start putting everything together.

I will post pics later on today

This is not the body I’m going to be using on this build!

Now the 4tec is flipped over in the pic to show how it will look. It definitely needs 2.2 wheels which I do have eBay special 2.2 onroad wheels already.

To get this thing to sit right is going to require a LOT of cutting and I still probably won’t be able to run much of the stock interior if any. I’m ok with that, because I can just tint the windows so you won’t be able to see inside anyways.

Looks like it needs some 22s to fill out the wheel wells.

Wow, that looks awesome. I love when people put hardbodies on on-road chassis(especially drag cars). It's kinda like hardbodies on crawlers, they won't scale a vertical wall, but a 1:1 wouldn't anyway.

Amen to that. I prefer my builds to be looks first. Performance is secondary

Depends 100% on the purpose of the vehicle. For a tail crawling vehicles, I'd agree worth you...but, for a comp crawler, performance is FAR more important. Since the vehicle this thread is about is a non-crawler, I'll add that non-crawling comp vehicle are almost entirely about performance.

I should add to my statement then. I personally have no interest in competition or "comp crawlers", therefore, performance is secondary. Even when it comes to my "racing" vehicles.

I totally agree with you though. "To each his own" and what not.

I don't know if anyone still makes a true air ride kit, the only one (mass produced) I was aware of has been discontinued.

The Superscale2020 kit can be used to simulate air ride though.
