| Possible build idea?
Ok, hear me out. I know a lot of y'all don't live by the beach, but carrying a cooler really sucks across the sand. I did a search on here and the interwebs, the only thing I found is some laughable plastic kids toy. We are Adults! We need fully articulating suspension on our drink delivery device! Pretty much I'm thinking of starting the planning phase for a 4WD Cooler Crawler. Would need to be bigger than 1/10, I'm thinking a full size cooler here. We need enough power for that and everything in it (ice, drinks, food). Able to crawl the beaches and trails of the PNW. Any ideas y'all have? Think it's a good idea? Possible? Anyone can steal this idea from me, I'd love to see a proper one made. Here's the link to the one I found. I appreciate the paint job, but I wouldn't spend that much money for it. https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=...PUQvhd6BAgBED4 |

IMO, a RC cooler is kind of a goofy idea, but not a bad one. (maybe that's the only justification you need to see it through). I've considered building a scale semi, converting it to an off-road 6x6 and figuring out how to make a working refer trailer to serve a similar function though. Sent from my LM-V600 using Tapatalk |

I'd think you'll want something wide like the AR60's, Rift axles or monster truck axles. Maybe a 6x6 or 8x8 and paddle tires. Maybe you can find a medium sized cooler, I think weight will be the biggest hurdle. Do you have dunes to contend with? My experience with heavy beach crawlers is limited to the CrossRC BC8 8x8, its like 22 lbs. Is not hard to get totally stuck in soft steep sand: Last edited by HumboldtEF; 08-20-2021 at 07:49 PM. |

When you say "full size cooler", what do YOU consider to be "full size"? Reason I'm asking is, to some, a 15-20qt would be "full size". To others, it could be 35qt. And, to others, it would be 60qt, or larger. Once you've defined what you consider to be "full size", then prior can properly help you. ~ More peace, love, and kindness would make the world a much better place |

Fastest and RTR: Buy an RC powerwheels kids ride on toy https://www.bigtoysdirect.com/p/12v-...seat-truck-red. Remove the seat/steering wheel, but down a piece of wood. Insert cooler, drive to tha Beach man! If DIY is your want: Check with Huffy, the bike manufacturer, and buy some rear wheels for the "Green machine" only good for dragging it down the sand, they are smooth, but about 10"wide, make frame, etc If it needs to be RC rc, Mad force axles and some 40s losi paddle tires, etc. That's a good base, and probably big/strong enough for a loaded 9qt cooler (6 drinks full of ice) Mayne a 16 qt too. I thought of taking a set of axles and mounting them to a flat chassis to drive my suitcase instead of dragging it throughout the airport. Then again everything is flat there.
