1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus Been quiet for a minute after my crawler turned drift chassis project. Got heavier into the drifting scene & well…created this monstrosity. It’s a Sakura D5S RWD chassis that I’ve extended to a 12.3” wheelbase using 2 chassis bottom plates & upper decks. Body is all made from single pieces of 12”x24” .080 thick styrene sheet. Route sign I took from an Bluetooth LED hat, so I can customize the board to say whatever I want it to. Lighting courtesy of MyTrickRc DG-1, running lights & their new attack wafer lights as the headlights. Drift smoke exhaust inverted & stuck thru the roof. Windows are clear PET sheets I picked up off Amazon & tinted using VHT Niteshades. Wheels are custom 3D printed except the front barrels which are MST adjustable offset barrels. Wheels themselves are 1.9 replicas of the HPI classic king with a dually twist to it with the center caps & convex front wheel & concave rears. Shocks are mounted on servos for that “bagged” effect when hard parked. She’s heavy, but she handles incredibly for what it is. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...955e95d8b7.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3ec116a6ce.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1bec632ce6.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5307561e8c.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...760a986e15.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...cf1ea404fb.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...90783bb034.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6400fd0433.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...20b2063830.jpg & a reveal vid I made for IG https://youtu.be/1tutAgw6lQ4 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus Luvin' it...especially as I have family in Ewa Beach. [emoji1688] ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus That's one bad a$$ bus! I love the paint. |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus Cool Bus, Nice work. |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus Yup, it’s definitely cool. I really like the details, the paint and the LED sign. Nice work. Seeing this is a fun way to start the day"thumbsup" |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus The thing I like most about this site is seeing oddball one-of-one scratch builds. This is like nothing I've ever seen! Like who would suspect a bus for a drift machine? Great work. |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus Mad props...so much effort and time that doesn't even get seen in a build like this.. Home run! You knocked this one out of the park. [emoji123] Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus That drift monstrosity is awesome!!! I really like the bike rack and full lighting setup. Kinda wild seeing a bus without advertising banners --- This reminds me of the rc drift delivery panelvan video, where they're tandem drifting UPS, FedEx, DHL. |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus Wow! Awesome! Whats next? |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus Honestly, I was expecting a VW bus... this is way better! |

This is kinda where I got the idea. I originally wanted to make a panel an but one of the braddahz I drift with suggested I make a bus…like school bus. But I’ve seen a drifting school bus, so figured I’d do a city bus, but no one sells bodies like that so I tried to make one. Kinda spiraled out of control with the smaller details. [emoji23][emoji1787][emoji23] I’ve since added scale stickers & a smaller rear LED display board that throws the [emoji1687] followed by MAHALO that just continuously scrolls. I think I like the description of “attention to detail” better than me thinking I’m just chronic with the things I think of to use. [emoji23][emoji1787][emoji1434][emoji1434] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Haha. Yeah bro. Too much time & tryna focus my mind on something positive turned into this monster of a creation. [emoji28][emoji28] Mahaloz my braddah [emoji1431][emoji1687] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus Na bruddah, this is just Attention to detail, and not going overboard since it's a Drifter. If you were Chronic: The engine access panels would have some speaker grill or desk organizer mesh The doorways would be boxed-in so you could open the door with servo. Front-end able to "Kneel" to match curb height Ad banners for like tanning oil or bikinis or local companies Interior lighting Passenger seats Passengers Graphiti It's a really sweet bus, and i'm not trying to push you for more. Well, we need MORE Videos! I love how it looks! Plus it looks to perform really well |

This bus is “bagged” essentially. Hahaha. I have both front & rear shocks on servos to lay the body on the ground & tuck wheels. I actually have added some scale stickers like the handicap, “TheBus”, the www.TheBus.org & a modified “This bus makes wide right turns” that reads as “This bus makes WIDE ASS turns” with a pic of the bus turning both left & right [emoji23][emoji1787] Motor access panel/vent on the rear driver side has been since covered with window screen like originally planned. Hahahaha I was gonna do an interior, but considering how heavy it is already, I opted out to still be able to drift. Although the body roll in corner entry & exit is a killah sight to see. [emoji23][emoji1787] This is one of those projects that’ll never be done cuz of all the possible small details that can be added. Actually bought a Keanu Reeves doll to repaint as his “Speed” character & either hang him out the driver window or have him being dragged on a creeper cart from behind the bus. Hahahaha As for the doors, it was in the planning & still is. Hahaha. Just been busy with my SixtyFour Yota mini truck. Hahahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk of |
Re: 1/10 Scratch Built Honolulu City Drift Bus Oh yeah, your builds really are my type of crazy!!! Would the action figure work better 'skitching' on a piece of delrin behind the bus, or snanding on the bumper trying to hold on to sides? Can't wait to see what else happens |
