Team Associated SC10B (Fallen's Class 1 Buggy) I managed to chase down a Team Associated SC10B locally. I've wanted one of these for a while, and unfortunately they're long discontinued. So I'll have to be fairly gentle with it. The buggy I bought ended up missing some critical parts. So I found an SC10 roller on eBay and robbed the nice parts to make this: https://i.ibb.co/rwcm70Q/rps20221214-203006.jpg https://i.ibb.co/565CzBH/rps20221214-202944.jpg I have a 3300KV brushless motor going in to run on 2S. I "locked" the rear diff with Silly Putty which should make this thing a blast in sand / dirt. I put Badlands on the rear, Trenchers on the front. I tried to run Pro-Line Powerstrokes, but the ones I bought were too long. The driveshafts couldn't support the down travel. And for more scale goodness, I stole the 5.0 out of my Early Bronco and mounted it somewhere it will actually be seen. https://i.ibb.co/Lt8ysmS/rps20221214-203017.jpg |
Re: Team Associated SC10B (Fallen's Class 1 Buggy) I almost forgot about these cool older buggies! Nice updates - especially the motor... "thumbsup" |
Re: Team Associated SC10B (Fallen's Class 1 Buggy) Wow, that looks good. Reminds me of the desert buggy from Smuggler’s Run. |
Re: Team Associated SC10B (Fallen's Class 1 Buggy) Awesome! Love those buggies, it's a shame they came and went so fast. |
Re: Team Associated SC10B (Fallen's Class 1 Buggy) Thanks! I have a large, outdoor sand / dirt track about 1/4 mile from my house. It's super bumpy, rutted and deserty and I think this buggy will be a blast there. |
Re: Team Associated SC10B (Fallen's Class 1 Buggy) Nice score! I'm still kicking myself for never picking one of these up when they were clearing them out years back. |
Re: Team Associated SC10B (Fallen's Class 1 Buggy) Amazing, I have one as well. Truth is I actually have a couple of them. I bought them back when they came out. They looked so cool i had to have a pair. Wish we had a short course track around here. You already have it looking better. Look forward to seeing what else you do with it. I should likely blow the dust off of mine http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...4438-69609.jpg |
Re: Team Associated SC10B (Fallen's Class 1 Buggy) Thanks. If you don't have a short course track, they're pretty fun as proper off-roaders too. I did fit the Pro-Line Powerstrokes on mine. Slash rears on the front and Powerstroke XTs on the rear. I had to limit the XTs by between 10-15mm to prevent the driveshafts from coming out of the drive cups. With the extra down travel and these offroad tires, it's a blast, especially with the rear diff locked. I ran mine at a sandy, rough "track" today and it's awesome. With the 3300kv motor and a 20t pinion, the 2S 4000MAH batteries last about 20 minutes each. My 4 year old son was launching it about 4 feet high and having a great time. |
Re: Team Associated SC10B (Fallen's Class 1 Buggy) These buggies are super cool. Wish I'd got one when they were on the market |
