Man, I miss these. I always wanted one, just never bought one... Then I saw Making-trax and this thread and i am starting to want one again. How do they do on dirt and things other than snow? I don't make it to the snow all that often...

I am guessing that would do just fine...

None of the tracks on mine have worn out yet. Kyosho is still producing the newer version so there are still plenty of spare parts.

i wasn't shure, if you ran them on harder surfaces, i could see them wearing out, and for storage, what do you do? if you left them on, wouldnt they crack after a while? (a long while, but eventually, right?)

It would be nice to get some metal tracks for them. They would probably never break unless you had some horrible crash.

It would be cool to use an E-Maxx tranny in there with larger idler gears and a really small spur gear... then you could have a 2 speed in the electric.

I was thinking that one of these would be fun at the beach...a little styrophoam and waterproof electronics might be a good time.

these are cool to see i have an original that must date back to around 1989-1990 with a van body that i think was made by parma. probably only ever ran it a few times. i would post pics but i cant ever seem to get them to work on here. i took the tracks off way back in the day to narrow them and never put em back on or ran it again.

Has anyone ordered theirs off Ultimate hobbies? the pice is 160....

Also, does anyone know if there is a center diff for the E-maxx tranny, so you could put that in the center and get 2 speeds

Also, i was thinking BL for the extra efficency, but how high of a KV should i go? is the 7700 MM okay? i have a MM, so i can tune it down

I ordered off Ultimate Hobbies, but got the DF-300, newest model.

The emaxx tranny has no center diff in it.

i was wondering if there was an aftermarket diff if anyone knew about...

as for a motor, it looks like higher winds or KV is better.... according to making - trax

and i don't want to get a df-300 because i plan to beat on it, and i predict the scale things would fall off, so plain is better.

I'm looking at a 4600kv mamba, I figured that would be pretty safe.

I might have gotten the cheaper blizzard, but it wasn't in stock. And you don't have to put on all the plastic stuff on the body
