Thanks I never liked the pull-starters .... I'm lazy, I guess.
I should've done this when the gears broke the first time, now the body fits much better.
Now I need to break out the styrene and finish the body work the right way .... and figure out my paint-job.

Hey, I said I was lazy.

woot .. I'm happy to report that the start transplant was a smashing success. The TRX starter is stronger, cheaper, and easy to find .... win / win all around. Tested her today and it all works great. Now any spares or parts will work on all of my nitro's.

I like the li'l 'kat even more now.

Ding ding ding! Ring a bell, win a prize!

That's how I felt when I opened my "stock" FR over the weekend. I needed to open it up so I could juggle the Rx connections and switch my control sticks to where I want them. When I took a good look under the hood, I discovered that this unit already has the sabertooth 2x12 ESC in it!

First thing I did was throw a 3S in there and go for a rip - much better then the 2S that I was running..

Now I guess I'll need to brace my gearbox and select some better motors...

Bringing this thread back to life! It's getting to be that time of year again for those of us that get snow can have a little fun. In the next month or so I'm going to be building a new cat from Spyker Workshop. This thing is bad as heck, it puts kyosho to shame.

Dammit, why did I open (and read in its entirety) this thread? Now I want one.

My RCs sit all winter, and where I live, we get a LOT of snow. Here's a question for you guys: Since I see a lot of youtube videos of these things running in fields with 2" of snow, how do these do in fluffy deep snow? For the majority of the winter here, I have fluffy snow that hovers between knee and waist deep. Are these things light enough to stay on top of fluffy snow? If I can only run it in my driveway, it's not going to get used very much.

I'm in Texas and we don't know what snow is so I added rubber strips to run mine in trail run.

I'm in Canada so I think means I'm qualified to talk about snow...

As long as you don't weigh it down, it just floats in the top 2"-3" of fluffy stuff. I've run mine with as much as 10"-12" of fresh snow on the ground. The tracks have enough surface area that they create some decent buoyancy in the snow.

These rigs definitely need the Sabretooth upgrade, I would hate mine without it, and probably never use it.

Look at rc sparks on you tube about 6 months back and he has a vid.
You can also look up Spyker Workshop on there too and see a lot of his creations .

Well bringing this one back to life. Finally got my printer to print pretty dang good. Got most of the hull parts done just have to get all the electronics in order. This thing is going to be brood powered and is hopefully going to be bad ass. When I start assembly in the next week I will post some pics of the progress.
