Figured I'd sound off in the NC thread, I'm located just outside Charlotte. Gonna try and keep an eye on this page so I can meet some of you, always willing to break parts

my first and only scaler as of now

Nice Honcho!!! Glad to see more NC folks posting here.

Anyone in the Asheville area own enough land to build a G6/Terra-X type course? I have a small rock area and am scouting for some feasible places to cut some trails through the woods by my house. Never going to be epic because of the steep grade.

Welcome aboard Josh! I am going to try to put together a KOH style scale run at Devils Playground one weekend this spring if anyone is interested. If you haven't been to DPG, it is located outside Asheboro, NC and is private property we have access to.

There is a post on NCRCCrawlers.com as well.

I've read about DPG many times on NC4X4. Looks like a great place for the r/c rigs.

Make sure the rules (if any) allow Vaterra Twin Hammers....

Don't worry.....they will.

Rough idea of rules..........1.9 commercially available tires. Other than that, run what you want.

Glad to see someone else in NC is getting a Vaterra. I have one I am building now.

I had to get one. I was about to start gathering parts for an IFS Wraith build until I saw the Twin Hammers. Granted I would have rather built a WrExo than just pull a rig out of a box but I freakin love mine to death. JB welded the front diff and am very impressed with its abilities after tossing in an MMP and a MG946r steering servo. Once I can get a few 3s 2200mah batteries and my deans wire arrives, I will be tossing this Tekin 13.5t in. Never ran brushless before so I'm very excited.

My daughter finished off the pink venom buggy pictured on page 2 (stripped the rear R&P). She has some amazing driving skills for a kindergartener.... Sad when the r&p's didn't even last a month on 7.2-7.4 volts and an RC4WD 35t. It is getting parted out to fund a Twin Hammers for her.

I like seeing this, just wish I was a little closer to everyone. This section has been dead way too long. Was saving up tax money to fund a new rig, but when I posted my thread about eastern nc with no hits, I decided NC was barren. Oh well.

Attention everyone in/around south Charlotte!

Its kind of short notice but I will be in Fort Mill, SC tomorrow evening 3/2 through at least Monday. My Jeep transmission gave up yesterday. A family member in Fort Mill has an old Dakota sitting around and has offered it up to me. I will mainly be there to get the Dakota road worthy. I will be bringing my TH with me and plenty of batteries to run for an hour or two.

So if anyone in the area could meet up somewhere for some rc fun, let me know.

I am finally getting back into the scalers. Myself and my 4 kids all have scalers. 3 SCX10, 1 MRC based scaler and 1 exceed 1/16 crawler. I am installing the new electronics in them this weekend hopefully. I plan on getting back out there to GTG this spring.

I did some swapping today to get a Twin Hammers for my daughter. The incapacitated Venom just wasn't cutting it hahaha.

I don't know how old your kids are but my daughter would like the r/c's even more if she knew some other kids with trail rigs.

The gtg friendly weather will be here soon enough.

My kids are ages 5 7 8 11. So I have a pretty big range to choose from lol.
I just changed over the battery plugs on their new ESC's just need to mount them and they will be back running. And my youngest sons just needs trans mounted and electronics wired and he will be done. I am almost there now. They have been bugging me more to get the got because I got my JK in the mail
