Just an update on Umstead State Park Trails: On the map, the description for Company Mill is wrong, my bad. Company Mill Trail starts at the NW end of the parking lot at the Harrison Ave entrance. It's about a mile down the trail to the river and mill. There are significant rock formations to play on both sides of the river. The trail down/up is a nice ride with optional obstacles off-trail. This is a popular area, so expect traffic on the trail and people at the mill ruins - but it is totally worth it. Loblolly Trails starts at the NE corner of the same parking lot, and the description on the map is for that trail. Beyond the river noted in the description, the trail gets rugged and has optional rocky creekbeds and other obstacles. |

I used to crawl my old AX10 at the creek on McAlpine Trail in Charlotte. Park at the parking area on Margaret Wallace ROad just off of Independence blvd. Walk across MArgaret Wallace to the greenway trail, follow it about half way down, and there is some awesome areas to crawl on both the creek side and on the other side of the trail.

There's a park called River Bend close to Hickory that I go to. It has some good rocks, mud, creek crossings, and sand...may want to add it to the map? |

There are a few good places to crawl at the Gateway trail in Kings Mountain. The address is 807 South Battleground Road, Kings Mountain, NC 28086. We go there a good bit and still find new spots all the time. If anyone would like to meet up and go just hit me up. 20141125_153920_RichtoneHDR_zps6c0b42bf.jpg Photo by smurfenstein | Photobucket 20141125_152623_RichtoneHDR_zps635f463b.jpg Photo by smurfenstein | Photobucket 20141125_152422_RichtoneHDR_zpsa4cf252f.jpg Photo by smurfenstein | Photobucket 20141125_152205_zpsc4343a43.jpg Photo by smurfenstein | Photobucket Last edited by Smurfenstein; 11-29-2014 at 09:07 AM. |

Hey yall Horizons Park in Rural Hall has walking trails with tree roots, rocks, and whatnot. About a 45 minute loop for the trail. Plus a bunch of woods. And disc golf. Oh and a playground for the younguns!

Eno River State Park in Durham has lots of great trails with water crossings, rocks and hill climbs...go there all the time Occoneechee Mountain in Hillsborough has some good trails and rocks (provided you don't encounter the wrong ranger) Rocky Face Mountain Rec Area in Hiddenite has some good trailing and rock climbs; good alternative to Stone Mountain when it's crowded |

Yeah been wanting to check out Rocky Face. Is this patrolled by the haters of crawling or is it a fairly safe place to crawl? So many of the "good" spots are patrolled by some sort of ranger that doesn't go for us crawler folks.

Hey guys, RubikonKid here... well used to be before I got out of crawling and forgot my info. I'm going to slowly start working on this map again and try to get it updated. I just added Area 51 in Trinity as I was out there over the weekend and it's a great place to go if you're local; but I've heard of people driving 3+ hours just to go there Edit: There is also a place called DLB that is supposedly right down the road from Area 51. When I get info I will add that as well Last edited by tinytim93; 11-06-2017 at 06:52 PM. |

So me and a friend went to stone mtn state park and were run off by one of the park rangers. He told us that according to the regulations that rc's aren't allowed. He basically said that it's all lumped together and far as drones and such goes. Went thru the rules and regulations section on nc state parks website and it specifically states that it's no airial vehicles are allowed, nothing about any rc cars. Also looked in the vehicle section and it said nothing about rc cars being banned. Does any one else have insitenon this. Stone mountain is a great place to go to play.
