Default Roll over

Ok the newbie has another question lol! My son wanted a lift kit for his scx10 because he don't want to cut up his body!! It now rolls over sideways really easy! What would be the best solution to this? Weight the wheels or??? I say just cut the wheel wells and take the lift off but he's not to happy with that choice anyone have a solution to this?

If the rollovers are frustrating him, take off the lift kit and remove the body temporarily so he can see how much better it performs without the lift. He'll probably be more open-minded to a little body trim after he sees the results.

"mikebecher" pretty much hit the nail on the head. Adding the lift will give the clearance you're looking for but at the cost of high center of gravity. Adding weight to the wheels will help but only mask the problem. Wheel wideners would help to a point, but again only to a point. The only true fix is to do a bit of cutting on the wheel wells. Tell your son that to make an omelet - you have to break a few eggs .
The payoff of running a lower CG will more than cover the cost of trimming up the body

Tires and foams also play a "roll" (lol) here. On a soft tire, the downward tires sidewall will roll under causing you to roll. Using a firmer tire or foam can help with this.
