| NENC 2016 Charity Partnership Fisher House Foundation is best known for a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. These homes are located at major military and VA medical centers nationwide, close to the medical center or hospital they serve. Fisher Houses have up to 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room and an inviting living room. Fisher House Foundation ensures that there is never a lodging fee. Since inception, the program has saved military and veterans’ families an estimated $320 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation. http://www.fisherhouse.org Last edited by Jslick; 05-09-2017 at 08:55 AM. |

I was contacted by The Sons of The American Legion Post 799 and they were generous enough to contribute to the charity we are sponsoring this year. If you are unaware of who The Sons of The American Legion are; All male descendants, adopted sons and stepsons of members of The American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who died in service during World War I, World War II, The Korean War, The Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, and the Persian Gulf War. Thank you for your support of the event and our service men and women. |

Once again I am proud to say the event has contributed to a special charity and has exceeded the amount we pledged. We originally pledged $500 to Fisher House and yesterday I sent them the contribution from the NENC and our total donated came to $700. Thanks to everyone that came out. I hope to see you next year.
