I personally would rather see Trophies go to the top ten. To Pay out five places is catering to the best drivers, rather than making it fun for everyone.
Everybody gets something already right? I'm all for a cool t-shirt but beyond 3rd to 5th place I dont think a trophy is called for or wanted IMO. Maybe use the $$$ for a big cookout at the end!?

Ever since I've been around it's always been more than 5 guys

IT'S FUN

If there is 20 places, sure, you probably earned it, and a 10th place trophy can show a younger fellow how it is to be involved in a fun event.

You want good opinions, ask those out of the top five. There you will find your answers.

Its is all fun pete, just trying to incorporate everyone, and not just a few.

And I am all for a cookout or shindig!! That would be great.

When you run you are a top 5 driver and winner

Its all good to me just voicing my opinion. With all the $$$$ we could have steaks for the cookout

Damn Pete, that's the most you've typed in all your other posts combined!

Now I forgot what I was going to say...

if i'm a top five finisher for the winter points series i'll donate my winnings to trophies as long as they have a little guy holding a crawler on the top.

EDIT:
the guy holding a crawler was more of a joke. If I'm in top five i'll fund as much of the trophy cost as the winnings allow.

Tom, you realizeyoyu now have to show up for an event with all this input.
We did have good turn out in the winter series @ 10 per head and only half paid out.(I know we had to fund the venue and thats ok) but it did not realy hinder the head count. In fact I think we ended up with more heads per event all around.
I dont care if we leave it at five bucks I'm not rich.
I have more thoughts but not time righte no I check back in later.

We could go $5 a head, trophies for top ten and I could host a cook out after the final with the remaining cash. If there was any left divy it up between top 3 or five? just a thought.

im down for $5 or $10.
i think for trophies, cookout, and a payout would be nice too. $10 would be a better fit to help fund all that. $5 isn't crap. neither is $10 but its twice as much as $5 and it will go a long way to help fund the overall event

at 10 per head we could prb have it all. maybe not t shirts but few were interested in shirts in the past. I thjink that there will need to be a min. number of events entered to qualify for the merch.

I can get 10 shirts printed for cheap, and they look great. I did this last year for some events I put on.

IF you are serious, I will front t-shirt money for the first 10 drivers on the first event.

Several guys already have shown interest in shirts, I think this would be a plus.

ON the trophies. What I posted was for an example, in most events I work with trophies are handed out on a percentage. IN other words, say 70 percent of entries. So 10 drivers, 7 trophies and so on.

It really doesn't matter to me, we just need to take care of everyone, and not just a few. 10 dollars every 3 weeks is no big deal either. And if we really put on a good comp, with announcing, banners, t-shirts, etc...... we will get the drivers, and 10 bucks for a very cool event is defiantly worth the money.

IF we do 10 dollars, then defiantly have T-shirts, trophies, and gift certificates or something.

5 bucks is nothing, and anyone would pay this. 10 bucks is nothing either, but people start to expect a worth while event, and not a few guys gathering around some rip rap LOL

Its all fun fellows, with all of our efforts, and ideas, we can make this a must be at series. And I think we can gain a good showing

Oh, yea, pete, I currently am in 6th position

And Bob, I still wont' show up for any events.................

I am in this time

Not bad for not even having a crawler.

You have to at least make sure they are there for half the events before you start handing out Tshirts!?

Being back out in the real stuff will take announcing and banners out.

I say we make it free. Only bragging rights. That will take care of all this BS.

That's the way we used to do it. I'm good with that too.

My problem is Pete, I get too involved with so many different things, it makes it hard to focus on one thing.

I am sure EeePee will agree, with you, eric, bob, todd, gabe, etc...... stepping your game up, really makes me want to take it more serious!

And I am working on a crawler

I agree with you, would like at least a commitment, to recieve t-shirts.

Don't have to be BS. I am certain we can keep it fun for everyone, and still have that competitive attitude.

I am ok with whatever fee everyone decides to charge. And I will make an effort to do my part in making this a great series.

Bob posted this up so we would give our opinions. And we are. so that shows we are interested.

just need to finalize some things and we are on our way.

I have been watching all of the postes and everyone seems pretty open on the fee thing.
I think we can continue at the $5 rate to give a reason to try harder. I like T-shirts its all I wear. But I think one should show for at leaste 4 comps to earn one. I think we could do trophie style awards on the cheap.
I like the idea of doing a cook out BUT
A guy or gal that only shows for 1 comp shouldnt eat on everyone elses dime.... We could hold back a % of the earnings to help w/ a cook out and then ask small fee per head to compensate the difference?

Just a few thoughts. I do feel that an entry feey helps keep a competitive feel and provides the small goodies that may attract newbies or others from abroad.

I think we all plan to work out a few issues at Toms on Tues so I'll leave all of the reward/ fee/ payout issues open until then. Until then please continue posting any thoughts on Sat Or Sun Comps as well as any new sites and the details needed. I would at leaste like to get that together in the mean time.

Thanx fellas
