Bundle Up Boys and Girls!!

The Spring/Summer Series is in the books and now it's time to start up the next phase of fun! Here is the official thread for the 2010 Fall/Winter Points Series. We had a great turn out for the Summer Series and would love to increase participation for this upcoming series.

All are invited, There willl be 7 events w/two throw aways. This means we will take the best 5 events and that will be your final series score. We will continue with the weekend / AM schedule as done in the past, holding each event on Sunday mornings.

For this series:

-There will be a $5 entry fee per event. (any indoor comp will require an additional $5 to the Boulder House for the use of the facilities).

-For a $25 buy in you will be able to run in 5 events and receive a T-shirt. Beyond that you will pay for additional events at $5 a piece. Anyone who competes in 5 or more events will get a t-shirt once they have paid for their 5th event if they chose not to do the buy in (granted they have paid for all 5 by the next to last event for correct shirt orders). After payment, your shirt will be available at the final comp. Having paid for 5 events or more will also get you your ticket into our awards party and include your meal at this event.

-We will be comping at 10am on sunday mornings.

-We will be using the current national rules for progress (-2 per gate, Not Progressive Scoring). We will NOT be using the 20pt and carry rule option in this series..

There has been a little discussion on spotting/judging so the rule is as follows:

There will be two spotters and one judge per driver per course. If a penalty is not called by one of these three people, it DID NOT happen. If a spectator sees something, and a spotter or judge does not, it does NOT matter to the score. This will clarify any he saw she saw activities.

On the same note, we need spotters and judges to be proactive and cognizant of the driver and course they are judging. Please pay attention and position yourself in a way you can effectively see all obstacles/gates.

These events are meant to be fun and we want to keep it that way, but we also need to make sure everyone is getting the same fair judging as everyone esle.

The schedule is as follows:

09/19/10 - O'Shaughnessy Dam
10/10/10 - Griggs Reservoir
11/14/10 - Hoover Reservoir/Dam
12/12/10 - The Boulder House (additional donation if possible for heater fuel)
01/16/11 - The Boulder House (additional $5 fee)
02/13/11 - The Boulder House (additional $5 fee)
03/20/11 - The Boulder House (additional $5 fee)

THIS HAS BEEN WRAPPED UP....GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!

-There will also be a friendly scale course/comp set up and ran at locations where feasable. The rules to scale are as follows:

You can only run the scale course once you have ran your current comp course (if you are comping).
If you are called "ON DECK" for the comp course, you have 2 minutes to start the course after the previous driver has finished. If this time elapses, you will receive a 50 DNS for that particular course.
Gabe will be officiating the scale course and will explain further rules on site.

Again, all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to attend. We have a wide range of knowledge and are always willing and eager to help a newbie out with rig setup or driving tips. Hope to see you soon!!!

Thinking of coming out to a couple events but not sure exactly where these all are at. Could you post a mapquest or directions to each would be a big help.

Parking lot at O'Shaughnessy is not done.

we can still run there but it would be a little walk.

The first post will be updated around 3 days before each event with directions and maps to the locations. Just keep checking back to that post before each date.

The parking area will be on the north side of the road. What is labeled as parking is under construction. Where the map shows turning left into parking lot, take a right and park there.
